Watch Arnold Schwarzenegger sucker punch Sylvester Stallone in this first clip from Escape Plan

Sep. 20, 2013by: Jesse Giroux

The first clip from ESCAPE PLAN has been released, and it delivers exactly what many people have been waiting to see for a long time: a brawl between Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone. That's right, it's Rocky vs Terminator! Rambo vs Dutch! Um...Sgt. Joe Bomowski vs Dr. Alex Hesse? You get the picture.

The clip contains some footage from the trailer, and has the two muscular actors in need of a distraction. Of course the distraction ends up being a fight between the two, set off by a sucker punch by Ah-nold.

"Relax, it's pretend!"

Plot:

One of the world's foremost authorities on structural security agrees to take on one last job: breaking out of an ultra-secret, high-tech facility called "The Tomb." Deceived and wrongly imprisoned, Ray Breslin (Sylvester Stallone) must recruit fellow inmate Emil Rottmayer (Arnold Schwarzenegger) to help devise a daring, nearly impossible plan to escape from the most protected and fortified prison ever built.

Is it me or does it looks like Schwarzenegger hurt himself more than he does Stallone with that suplex? Guys their age should really be more careful. All kidding aside, I am very excited to see the two of them together for the first time, and no I don't count THE EXPENDABLES. While the two of them may be the main draw, there are some other great actors that appear in the film that you should be equally excited for, such as Jim Caviezel, Amy Ryan, Vincent D'onofrio, Vinnie Jones and Sam Neill.

ESCAPE PLAN will be in theaters on October 18th, 2013.

Why does it look like Arnold is playing second fiddle to Sly again?

Awe man!

That suplex set the tone for me. I want this to be good. I just have a feeling there is going to be a lot of cheesy back and forth between Sly and Arnold. I just don't know. I would have preferred a more serious tone in a Non CG prison.

I love Arnie and this movie would have been my wet dream as a 13 yr old.

But this just looks plain cheesy, and early word out of the screenings they did wasn't very positive (one critic tweeted that it was hard to watch). Also, I know it's bad to judge a book by its cover, but 50 Cent keeps popping up in all these films with good casts that are financed by newbie film studios and a lot of times they end up going straight to DVD and being horrible (look at his IMDb page -- he's been in straight-to-DVD movies starring Nic Cage, John Cusack, Robert De Niro, Bruce

Mostly terrible films, some like Frozen Ground merely mediocre, despite otherwise good casts. I think maybe Fiddy's production studio is financing them or something, but they never make it to theaters.). Escape Plan will have a theatrical run but it reminds me of those other movies that went straight to DVD. Despite Arnold and Sly teaming up I just can't get excited for it.

Also, I got the ending spoiled for me, and it's pretty predictable and cheesy as well. :/

Hopefully, this is the team-up these two action flick legends deserve. I think Jim Caviezel just might steal the show as the villain and I'm praying and hoping 50 Cent doesn't ruin things too much.

Can't think of a possible to reason to ever want to see this. In the trailers both Arnold and Sly even look bored, and actually seem dismissive and show contempt at any audience that would want to see this.
