Hey Ashton Kutcher and Aaron Sorkin, you guys can suck it! Justin Long and the crew at Funny or Die have beat you in the Steve Jobs biopic release derby. Their film, ISTEVE, debuted online today. Having read the massive biography of Jobs and seen the clips from Kutcher's film JOBS, I was left to wonder what direction this version would take on the story. By and far, this has to be the funniest and most bizarre true story I have ever seen.

ISTEVE stars Justin Long as Steve Jobs as both a pioneer and genius who has interacted with many interesting characters during his life. Speaking directly to the camera, Jobs tells his story that takes the viewer from Asian mystics to drug-induced brainstorm all the way to direct interactions with George Lucas as he develops the STAR WARS prequels and beyond. ISTEVE also stars LOST's Jorge Garcia, James Urbaniak, and Michaela Watkins.

The file cannot be embedded due to the 80 minute run time, but you can click the poster below to go check it out.

Extra Tidbit: I especially loved the "magical Negro" janitor, Mose. Nice touch, FoD!

I wonder how involved Justin Long was in regards to this idea. I still remember him from those "I'm a Mac" commercials.

20 minutes in. Pretty great so far! Warning, though.

So far I'm loving it. A little warning is that, coming from Funny or Die, some people might expect this be a hilarious affair... but so far it's actually rather serious. Some giggles here and there, and there is definitely a light tone to it all so far, but not quite as funny as I would expect from the website named Funny or Die haha. Not a complaint, though! This is great!

This was surprisingly really good. Wouldn't be surprised if this turns out to be much better than the Ashton Kutcher film.

80 minutes! Ain't no one got time for that! Just kidding. It might be really funny. Just seemed an appropriate time to bring that back.
