Watch J.K. Simmons terrorize Miles Teller in the first trailer for Whiplash

Back in May we showed you a very intense clip from WHIPLASH featuring J.K. Simmons throwing a chair at Miles Teller. Now take that scene and turn it up to 11 because holy hell this fill trailer might make your stomach turn. Writer/director Damien Chazelle’s Sundance award-winning drama is on the top of my must-see movies this year and if our own Chris Bumbray’s review is any indication, it’s going to be worth checking out. He mentioned that Simmons “has his best role since OZ as the dictatorial instructor”, and if you’re a fan of Simmons you know that’s a big boast.

The synopsis if you please:

A young drummer (Miles Teller) toils under a ruthless instructor (J.K. Simmons) in the pursuit of ultimate perfection in his music.

So if you’re looking for an answer to what the cost of striving for perfection is, you might want to check this one out.

WHIPLASH opens in theaters on October 10th 2014.

Extra Tidbit: The movie was filmed, edited, and submitted into Sundance in ten weeks

This looks more interesting than anything coming out this summer. How many hundreds of millions of dollars did this take to make?

J Jonah Jameson just slapped Mr. Fantastic. Looks like he's just as upset about the casting as us fans are.

J.J./J.K, I'm sure he got some ribbing about that.

I used to enjoy the Spider-Man/Fantastic Four cross-overs in the comics.
