Watch old people sing in this trailer for Quartet, the directorial debut of Dustin Hoffman

TRAILER REMOVED AT THE REQUEST OF THE STUDIO

Dustin Hoffman, hot off the recently cancelled HBO series Luck, is taking a jaunt behind the lens this time with the comedy QUARTET, about a retirement home for opera singers.  Wait…you’re leaving already?  Come on, it’s Dustin Hoffman, give him a chance.  The pic stars Billy Connelly, who is awesome at any age, as well as Harry Potter alums Michael Gambon and Maggie Smith.

Stupefy!:

This is probably geared more for your parents, but I would honestly rather watch something like this than another STEP UP movie.  Unless it was STEP UP with old people, because that would be hilarious…and potentially hazardous to the cast.

Here’s a synopsis to get you pumped:

Lifelong friends Wilf and Reggie, together with former colleague Cissy, are residents of Beecham House, a home for retired opera singers. Every year on Giuseppe Verdi’s birthday, the residents unite to give a concert to raise funds for their home. But when Jean Horton, a former grande dame of the opera fallen on hard times, also Reggie’s ex-wife and the fourth and most celebrated member of their former quartet, moves into the home to everyone’s surprise, the plans for this year’s concert start to unravel.

QUARTET does not have a U.S. premiere date yet, but opens in the U.K. on November 2, 2012.
