Watchmen comparisons

Jul. 17, 2008by: Dave Davis

Friday belongs to the Bat, but today is WATCHMEN day on the internets!

While the new trailer pumps hot full-motion joy into ocular devices, some comic fans may ponder just how close the film will be to the printed masterwork. Rope of Silicon has - with astonishing swiftness -- posted a side-by-side comparison of key scenes from the trailer against the source material. And while director Zack Snyder has taken occasional (and perhaps necessary) license with adapting, the accuracy should appease even the most persnickety fan.

i want to walk to see this movie in slo-mo

so i can prepare for all of the slowed down punches and "visionary" effects that will follow. Seriously looks better than i thought it would though.

I'm seeing this baby along with TDK in IMAX on Saturday...

and there's no way I'm gonna blow it by checking out the trailer on my cheap-ass hi-def Quicktime playing laptop, I don't give a damn if it does play full screen without skipping.

That being said...after seeing this page and the "Watchmen trailer!" page (not the trailer) this maybe the first time since, well...Batman Begins that I've popped serious wood to a comic book film.

Seriously, I got a rising flesh rocket in my lap here, anybody wanna feel?!

Damn

Damn yo in a span of a few hours we Schmoes got shoveled with Watchmen stuff fast. 1st the viral trailer, then the EW cover, then the better Apple quality Trailer and this...

...I can't imagine how much higher the hype will go once everyone sees the trailer before TDK and when Comic-con comes.

OMG FIRST COMMENT!!! Don't you hate when people do that? What the fuck is the point of it anyway?

Anyway, the trailer looks AWESOME. It gave me chills. The comparisons were pretty crazy, but I'm not surprised. Zack did a good job with that in 300 so I figured he'd do a good job with this one. After this weekend is over and TDK is finally out, I have a feeling all the buzz will be about Watchmen.
