Did you ever wish you could see Alan Moore's seminal graphic novel "Watchmen" come to life? Well, you will in two days in a little movie by Zack Snyder called WATCHMEN you may have heard us talk about here one or two or five million times. The "coming to life" being referred to here, though, is seeing the actual graphic novel in full, digital motion. Which is where the "Watchmen Motion Comic" comes in. Warner Bros. will be releasing Blu-ray and DVD versions of the WMC for your enjoyment. Here's the skinny:

The Entire Watchmen Graphics Novel Comes to Life. Watched any great books lately? Now you can. The most celebrated graphic novel of all time that broke the conventional mold continues to break new ground. Watchmen co-creator and illustrator Dave Gibbons oversees this digital version of the graphic novel that adds limited motion, voice and sound to the book's striking drawn panels.

All 12 chapters of the story are here - over 5 hours spanning everything from the mysterious demise of the Comedian to the crisscrossed destinies of loosely allied superheroes to their fateful impact on the world. Be in the know. Be watching. With Watchmen: The Complete Motion Comic. To unlock clips of the film, please test your Watchmen trivia knowledge at www.WMCDVD.com.

Click through to check out the official site. WATCHMEN, of course, will be released in two days.

ehh......

Of the few clips I have seen, this doesn't look that great. The animation seems to just be them cutting specific body parts and adding some puppet like movements. I think I'll just read the novel over watching this.

saw a 3 minute preview or something like that on Xbox Live. It was fucking terrible. Why not just read the book rather than deal with this cheap garbage which is only an obvious ploy to milk money out of people who don't know that it's not Zack Snyder's movie when it hits DVD shelves?

Hurm

Yup, I bought it and I watched the whole thing in one sitting, 6 hours and 2 pizza's from Marc's. and as before, I was entertained by the first few "episodes" then they got better, how ever I was sorta put off by the male voice for the females. But I got over it. And for some reason, even after reading the novel on and off again since 1999 I've noticed new things in each chapter. All in all I give the dvd a 9.5 outta ten. (I really wish they got a chick for the female parts and a small doc

They're fuckin' great

Been busy writing papers, but have spread these out over the past week and a half. Intriguing as fuck.

Also got the actual comic book on the side for comparison, but this thing is a dream. Makes me wish I had read Watchmen long before.

GOT MY MIDNIGHT IMAX TICKETS, just 24 hours away now!

I've watched these off of iTunes

The first few are alright, definitely something new, but as they got better at it, the use of music and motion were just plain awesome. Some moments just make you go "God that was perfect!" All the voices are done audiobook style by one man, even female voices, and while he is definitely no Jim Dale, after you get use to him he is perfectly fine. It really helps keep it more of a comic book and less of a cartoon in my opinion. Now I just need to decide if Blu-Ray is worth the additional amount

You know what, it just might be.
