Watchmen official | Movie News
Most of this won't be news for anyone who's been following the buzz in the past few weeks, but the WATCHMEN cast has been officially announced, and most of the of the previously rumored names were indeed correct:
Billy Crudup is Dr. Manhattan.
Jackie Earle Haley is Rorschach.
Patrick Wilson is Nite Owl.
Malin Akerman is Laurie Juspeczyk/Silk Spectre II.
Matthew Goode is Ozymandias.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan is The Comedian.
Of those, Morgan is the fresh name (to me) -- he plays the dad on the TV show SUPERNATURAL and has popped up on tons of other series.
In addition, a JoBlo scooper known as 'junket' tells us that Carla Gugino may play Sally Jupiter, aka the first Silk Spectre. We'll probably see how that pans out this week, when more news will spill at Comic Con.
Zack Snyder (300) is gearing up for the Warner Bros. film, adapted from the seminal Alan Moore comic about former superheros who come out of retirement to investigate the death of a former colleague, only to uncover a massive conspiracy.Source: Hollywood Reporter
Extra Tidbit: Snyder will retain the initial story's timeline, setting the movie in an alternate 1980s.
