Strike Back below!
by: Niki Stephens Dec. 22, 2009

We haven't really reported a lot on Peter Weir's prisoner escape epic, THE WAY BACK.

Fortunately for us and all of you, we have some stills from the film as well as a synopsis. The movie stars Ed Harris, Colin Farrell, Mark Strong, Jim Sturgess, and Saoirse Ronan. It's based on the novel, The Long Walk: The True Story of a Trek to Freedom by Slavomir Rawicz.

Here is the synopsis: When they escape a Siberian labor camp in 1940, seven courageous multi-national prisoners discover the true meaning of friendship as their epic journey takes them across thousands of miles of hostile terrain en-route to India and their freedom.

I'm quite interested in seeing this. Weir in my opinion is a wonderful director. The cast draws me into the film as well, especially the very talented Ed Harris. Here's hoping we get a trailer soon.

Extra Tidbit: I think Jim Carrey deserves more credit for his performance in Weir's THE TRUMAN SHOW.

This looks really good. Also, I agree with the extra tidbit. That was truly Jim Carrey's best movie and best performance of his career...so far.

I don't know that Peter Weir has made a bad movie yet. And "The Truman Show" is among my very favorites. And I have the utmost respect for everyone in this thing. This is definitely on my radar now.
