Wes Bentley hops on board Christopher Nolan's Interstellar

Jul. 25, 2013by: Niki Stephens

Wes Bentley's days as a peculiar kid with a paper bag fascination are long gone. Now it's unimpressed gamemaker with strange facial hair but I don't think he'll be back for that job.

No reason to feel bad for the guy, he was just cast in Christopher Nolan's INTERSTELLAR. The actor will join an already impressive cast including Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Michael Caine, Casey Affleck and Topher Grace. This is the last big part to be cast which is described as a "meaty supporting role".

The film scripted by Nolan's brother Jonathan will explore time travel and alternate dimensions, and sees a group of explorers travel through a wormhole.

No word yet on when production begins.

Yowsers!

This is shaping up to be ridiculously amazing.
Although, I think he could have done better than McConaughey in the lead. That worries me a bit.
"Alright, alright... that's what I like about these alien girls: I get older, but they exist in a realm beyond space and time, bending physics as we know it and retaining a younger appearance that tests the boundaries of quantum mechanics."

That's funny, but McConaughey has really shown some maturity in his choice of roles lately. It's been a while since he last did a romantic comedy, and the performances he's given in his more dramatic and riskier roles have proven his talent. He's not a joke anymore; he's a legitimate actor. There is a reason why he has been cast by some of Hollywood's top directors today.

Well I guess Chris needed to balance out the awesome cast with horrible actor. I can think of no actor with less talent. He is HORRIBLE.

I'm playing a new game. Here are the rules: someone awesome gets added to the Interstellar cast and then I get more pumped to see this movie. It's so much fun!

Would anyone be interested in seeing Wes Bentley as Batman? Just wanted to know. I think he got the Bruce Wayne look down pat. Who knows, his Nolan connection could potentially bring him to other roles.

I'm glad he's onboard for this. I like Wes Bentley but he's been in some serious lackluster films as of late. He was pretty good in THE HUNGER GAMES but I still can't get that bad taste out of my mouth from GHOST RIDER. INTERSTELLAR will only help him further his career. Keep it up Nolan!

This cast is solid. He's a good actor who's been stuck in a couple of sub par films lately (except Hunger Games).

I really hope Nolan casts Hugh Jackman and Guy Pearce again in one of his films.

Nolan knows how to pick great actors for his films and this is yet another great choice.

Katie Holmes, Eric Roberts, Michael Anthony Hall, and Tom Berenger are great actors?

Yes actually they are. Sadly though Eric Roberts and Tom Berenger get a bad rap nowadays because of all the low budget bad movies they did over the course of their careers.

You're right that Michael Anthony Hall has never provided any great performances, but Anthony Michael Hall has proven to be a more than capable actor. I have no opinion one way or another on Katie Holmes (except in context of that one scene from The Gift).
