What did you think of...Mad Max: Fury Road?

05.16.2015

After years of trying to make it to the big screen, MAD MAX: FURY ROAD has finally arrived for our viewing pleasure. Directed by legendary director George Miller, the man behind the original films in the series, THE ROAD WARRIOR, MAD MAX, and MAD MAX: BEYOND THUNDERDOME (See our guide to the previous films below), this latest entry takes place sometime before the last film and replaces original star Mel Gibson with Tom Hardy, who looks more than up to task to fill those crazy boots. Also joining the fray is a bald-headed Charlize Theron, playing Furiosa, a one-armed badass carrying a cargo of women that sets the bad guys on her trail, as well as supporting players Nicholas Hoult, Zoe Kravitz, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Riley Keough.

After a string of awe-inspiring trailers that built a level of hype that didn't seem like it could be met...the reviews rolled in, which seem to confirm that we have a genuinely awesome flick on our hands, if not a new classic. Our own JimmyO gave the film an 10/10 in his video review, with Chris Bumbray giving it a the same. While many expected the film to be a fun ride at a minimum, it appears that we have an action classic on our hands and one that needs to be experienced on the big screen. Will the hype and word of mouth carry this to a level of blockbuster success or could singing pitches and an R-rating stall the engine?

Check out all the interviews, trailers, featurettes, and clips of MAD MAX: FURY ROAD by clicking the image below!

Now that the superhero sequel has finally arrived, we want to hear what YOU thought of the film! You can POST YOUR OWN REVIEW of the film in the below strikebacks or on your own Movie Fan Central profile. Is this the second coming of action films or just a fun little jaunt in the desert?

Rotten Tomatoes: 212 reviews, avg score: 98%
Movie Fan Central: 10 reviews, avg score: 9/10

left me grinning

As I walked out of the theater, I had a grin from ear to ear and so did almost everyone else walking out. The last movie that left me feeling such a sense of giddiness was the first time I walked out of The Matrix.

This should not be a Mad Max movie. The character is barely in it and is portrayed terribly by the usually reliable Tom Hardy. I'm pretty sure Hardy was trying to sabotage the movie. The first 40 or so minutes is fucking fried gold, but any scenes that require dialogue or deal with anything other than an explosion are barely filler in my mind. Miller introduces some pretty big concepts in this movie, yet none of them are successfully weaved into the storyline. But man is the action

Couldn't agree more. Hardy was as bland as I've ever seen him. Thankfully everyone else brought their A game.

A couple of easy words...

You know how sci-fi has space operas. Well this was a fuckin action opera. Everything was damn choreograph so well it was some of the sickest action set pieces I've seen. I was like holy shit so many times. The dialogue was intense and so quotable. This was millers masterpiece. I hope he continues to make two more movies. I would love to see it.

Fan-Freaking-Tastic!

This was the movie Joss wishes he could have directed. Thank goodness for Miller because I finally feel like it was money well spent (and I might go back for seconds). It sucks that this lost to Pitch Perfect 2, but for anyone going to check it out, you won't be disappointed.

It was visually spectacular, great acting, really intriguing plot twists, and an end you absolutely didn't see coming. The crazy was out in full force, and the guitar-guy truck was probably the coolest thing I've

The crazy was out in full force, and the guitar-guy truck was probably the coolest thing I've seen in a theater since Hulk body-slammed Loki. An absolute pleasure to see on the big screen. I'm only angry that the stupid theater near me still had AoU on the IMAX, and Mad Max subjugated to the smaller screens.

Probably the best action movie of 2015

George Miller didn't just make a comeback, he shattered the bar again for action movies after doing that with The Road Warrior. It's a been a while since I've ever seen an action movie that was legitimately "heart-pounding", but Fury Road was just that. The action was a ton of things: inventive, gritty, practical, insane, etc.

The only negative thing I could say about it is his use of sped-up cam for the violence scenes. It's better than shaky-cam or CGI, but it still was distracting. I guess with that level of awesome, some sacrifices have to be made.

Didn't really notice that, except for the opening scene with Max running from the war boys, which I thought lended it self well to that scene.

I wasn't impressed at all by Hardy and he just looks sad the entire time (Sad Max). The movie is bonkers, but he's just not interesting and never really shines. Everything else was pretty great. Felt more like a Charlize Theron movie with Mad Max in it, but entertaining non the less. 9/10

Great movie, had a blast watching this over the top action movie. One question, I know Max had a son, when did he have a daughter?

Incredible action sequences and still room for a story where you actually care about the characters.
If you're sick of watching films that look like cut scenes from a mediocre video game check out Mad Max and see what actual stunts look like.

Um, what are you talking about?...That was never shown. They just all of a sudden started the car chase and we're supposed to care about Mad Max and his people even though we never got to know them?

@bobloblaw

Since this movie comes after The Road Warrior, Mad Max and Thunderdome you should have done your homework and watched the previous movies. Then you'd have your Mad Max storyline.

I for one am glad we just got right into the story. We already know (those who bothered to watch them) Mad Max is and why he is the way he is. This story was about Furiosa featuring Mad Max.

Bob, why don't you tell us what really bugs you about the film? If just about everybody here are ecstatic with the action and impressed with the character development in the middle of it...Why do you try to convince us that it had none of that? Are you the only one who has the right to an opinion? And even if you really didn't notice the characters, based on the action alone there is no reason for you to give it a red box. Black maybe.

"Bob, why don't you tell us what really bugs you about the film?"

Are you asking that as a joke?

"If just about everybody here are ecstatic with the action and impressed with the character development in the middle of it...Why do you try to convince us that it had none of that?"

Because I didn't feel any connection to them. It's called stating an opinion, which is what you're doing.

Uh, yes there is. If someone doesn't like something, they give it a thumbs down...And you're telling me how I should think now, and that's after you badmouthed me by talking down to me.

And you, not surprisingly, didn't answer my questions at all from my first reply to you. I'm saying not surprisingly because I see how you're acting.

I never said anyone was wrong. All I did was say my opinion of it like you did, but here you are attacking me when I did no such thing to anyone.

"You're one of those bothered by the strong female characters would be my guess."

lol. That didn't bother me at all and I honestly didn't even think about that, or know people thought that, until I saw it mentioned on here. Thank you for thinking so little of me.

I saw the the originals like 16 years ago, I was in middle school then, and I didn't care for them all that much. They were just OK. Now since it's been a very long time since I saw them, I was hoping this new one would reintroduce us to Mad Max, reinvent him, since it's a new movie with a new actor as Mad Max, but it didn't. Instead it just jumped right into the action. I didn't get a chance to connect with Max at all since the chase pretty much started right away. The same goes for Theron's character.

And the action, as cool as it was, was boring because I wasn't rooting for Max or anyone because the chase started so quickly. I never got to feel anything for the good guys...It was like watching 2 gangs fight and that would be something I would never want to watch.

If you've seen them then why whine about not having the backstory for Mad Max? This isn't a reboot...did you even read any press releases?! This is a continuation of the story... If you've seen the original trilogy, then I flat out don't understand why you need MORE backstory...?

There was no suspense, and I was never on the edge of my seat, because I didn't feel anything for any of the characters because I was almost immediately thrown into a car chase and that was pretty much the entire movie.

Now I have seen the other Mad Max movies, many years ago, but what I said is increased to 11 when viewed by people who never have.

Seen it last night at the movie theaters and it is great lots of action and I will go on the record and say it is better then the original.

Just got back from seeing it. So much to take in, but it's so brilliant, inventive and insane that I want to see it again. Need to, actually, as it's full of genius blink-and-you'll-miss-them moments. Yes it's a 2 hour car chase and yes it's basically a huge budget Mad Max 2, but it's the most entertaining film I've seen in ages. More please.

Fox News’ falsehoods gained particular notoriety in the wake of Islamic-extremist terrorist attacks in Europe earlier this year, when Fox began claiming that neighborhoods and even entire cities were off-limits to non-Muslims. Fans of Fox continue to repeat the claim, even though it’s been debunked by everyone from local residents of these regions to British Prime Minister David Cameron. The controversy gave rise to the Twitter hashtag #foxnewsfacts, which is still popular today.
Fox News’ penchant for inaccuracy has give rise to popular urban legends, debunked by Snopes.com, suggesting that Fox won the right to lie in court — a claim based on a court case that involved a local Fox affiliate — and that the network was banned in Canada for lying.

I feel bad for you I really do.

He does not remember having just accused all the critics of being in a conspiracy when they praise Fury Road. Well it was fun seeing how his brain works. Or not.

So is there some form of autism that compels this obsession over FOX news? What the hell does FOX news have to do with anything here anyway? Maybe it's some sort of Tourette's Syndrome where children spontaneously yelp "FOX News" when they don't know what else to say.

Here's the thing nin11; if unthinking morons, such as yourself and those who think like you, would take the time to look at what I've actually posted here, you'll find two things.

First, what little opinion I may have posted is based on trailers. I'm sorry, but in the 21st Century a person truly can judge a movie by its trailers in most instances.

Second, I've actually posted virtually no opinion at all. What I've posted was links to the reviews and opinions of others who have seen the film. But rather than intelligently look at those criticisms and offer counter points to them, I'm called unwarranted names for merely having the audacity to post the links that offer opinions counter to the idiot Collective.

That's what the vast majority of my commentary in this thread is; me countering insults and ad hominem attacks for daring to post opinions that the special snowflakes of the oh-so delicate younger generations aren't capable of handling without hyperventilating and flapping their arms.

So you see, it's actually you who should be shutting up to save yourself further embarrassment, since you're making a complete fool out of yourself by complaining about a problem that literally doesn't exist.

If you did understand the definition, then you'd understand that that's what you're receiving in public school, and from the 3 big mainstream media networks whose anchors had to be disciplined for journalistic malpractice.

I use multiple sources and often compare them with one another. For instance, I found about the Return of Kings critique through CNN; pretty mainstream.

[link]

But I posted the original blog post rather than the CNN article, because after comparing the two I noted how CNN quoted the piece out of context in order to project incorrect conclusions. Also note how CNN suggests that Return of Kings a "Men's rights website" when in fact it is not.

I'm not sure what your definition of conspiracy and/or fringe websites is, but it seems to be any site that presents information that runs contrary to the narrative that the Collective requires you to believe. But what you're engaging in here is what Carl Sagan, in his essay The Fine Art of Baloney Detection, refers to as attacking the arguer rather than the argument. I suggest you give it a read.

In any case you'd think that the 3 big networks having had to forcibly retire or reprimand their head mouthpieces for willfully distorting information might change your opinion as to who is credible or not. But then, I forget that the Collective doesn't allow you to change your opinion when confronted with new information.

The problem you're having here is that your idiot teachers have programmed you to believe that anything that doesn't conform to the rigid authoritarian ideology they're force feeding you constitutes hate, when reality is of course entirely different. Hate would be a group openly calling for forcible clitorectomies or, or stoning women to death for daring to drive a car. Simply stating that the depiction of female action stars is silly, isn't hate at all, particularly because its true. And that doesn't have anything to do with the genitalia that Charlize happens to carry between her legs, but rather with the basic physics of someone her size and weight presenting any kind of formidable physical force. It's preposterous. And I can guarantee you that living life in a radioactive desert wouldn't leave her with Oil-Of-Olay smooth skin either. That's why the only real proper response to these kinds of depictions is derisive mockery. They're simply hilarious. But no one is saying that Charlize ought to be stoned to death for such a silly depiction, so it can't really be classified as true hate, because the same would apply, of a type like Rick Moranis were cast into such a role. Remember, Yoda-isms about hate don't give the appearance of wisdom. You have to explain why their critique constitutes hate, otherwise your claim that it is, is simply empty and meaningless.

@ aerketype. So basically what you're saying is agree with the Collective, or get lost. How very tolerant of you.

By the way, are you I Am The Perfect Gentleman's Salacious Crumb?

Refer to when I said "I rest my case". If you have not seen the film you have no right to comment on it and the same goes for the person who wrote those pieces you linked to. For someone so into calling others brainwashed you blindly accept someone else's opinion as fact without even bothering to see the film yourself.

Still waiting to hear whether you think women are capable of driving or shooting guns by the way.

Wait, this gets even better: O’Reilly has not only attempted to have his ex-wife excommunicated from the Roman-Catholic church (which views getting divorced and remarried as a sin against God), but he also used his influence to launch an internal investigation into McPhilmy’s new boyfriend, a Nassau County Police detective.

O’Reilley has also been a on record as blaming minorities’ plight on familial issues, including domestic violence.

I'm not sure why it is that you're obsessed with FOX news, particularly after I've shown here that I discovered the Return of Kings commentary via CNN. I'm not even sure what FOX news has to do with anything here, other than you seem to want to vent about it for whatever reason. Frankly it's bizarre.

I understand that drones in the Collective are anxious to have the equitable equivalent of Dan Rather, Brian Williams, and/or George Stephanopoulos, equally. Unfortunately for you and your kind, O'Reilly is an editorial commentator, not a journalist or a news anchor, so there is no equivalency to be had here. And while I'm sure that recent news about Bill O'Reilly's domestic troubles has your endorphins flowing, it's important for you to temper your enthusiasm in the pain of others, with the realization that these are accusations. It has yet to be proven in a court of law. Given the proliferation of hate hoaxes and false rape accusations that the left likes to perpetrate in order to prove points that don't exist, these accusations should be taken with a grain of salt until proven otherwise. I've not read anything O'Reilly has purportedly accused minorities of, and I don't watch him either, but I'm guessing that most of your claims are based on the emotionally unhinged parrotings of your fellow drones rather than any kind of factual evidence.

What I know is that the word misogyny is consistently overused and misused where it simply doesn't apply. Criticizing a woman being cast in a particular role does not constitute misogyny, even if the Collective erroneously teaches you that it does. The links do not go to anti-woman commentary. Imaginative......

I thought there was no way the movie could be as great as the trailers. I was wrong. It didn't surpass them mind you, but this movie had the best trailers I've seen in a loooooong time. The trailers depicted a chase scene and that's exactly what we got. A 2 hour long chase scene.

9/10 overall

i give it an 8.5/10 overall, but the major action scenes were 10's.

It was fucking Uh. Maze.ZING.

This will probably be my favorite movie of the year, and it was one of the best action movies I've ever seen. It was a glorious work of art.

WOW. What a blast that was! I can't remember the last time a film lived up to my expectations & all the hype like that. Maybe 50 times more insane than I thought it would be.

Not great as the 98% tomatometer would suggest but still a slick and fun action packed summer ride. 7/10.

One of the biggest gripes with this movie seems to be about how Max isn't the main character or how he doesn't have much character development. Mad max is really about the setting than the titular character. It's about being in a post-apocalyptic wasteland where gasoline, horsepower, and insanity rule. It's about the bizzare side characters that give this world its color. And then there's the action and carnage. Mad max fury road takes the best parts of the road warrior and intensifies them

Mad max fury road takes the best parts of the road warrior and intensifies them tenfold. You can argue that the plot and the characterization isn't very deep, but the world building this movie creates is fascinating, and it's done with minimal exposition. I can't remember the last time I was so swept away by a movie's setting. The look of this film is a sight to behold, and the practical effects give the action far more realism and thus a deeper felt intensity than you get in movies that rely too much on cgi. Tom hardy and charlize theron are fanstastic in that they convey a lot of who their character is with their expressions and actions over dialogue, and this adds to the realism, which might sound contradictory when you consider how over the top this movie is. I can't wait to see this movie again. A true sequel to the Road Warrior.

It's rare...

That a movie gets such high praise and I wholeheartedly agree. This shit was insane from beginning to end. I don't remember breathing for the first 45 minutes or so. Simply incredible. I'll have to watch it again before I begin to process all the shit that blew me away.

Loved it

Would probably give it a 9/10 or 5/5. Was first going to see it with some friends a couple of days ago but double booked myself so went today with my wife instead. To my suprise my wife, who usually don't like action and haven't seen the previous Mad Max films, loved it almost more then me. That has to say something about how great this film is. Heres hoping a good word of mouth makes this a huge success.
Sidenote: A good day to have the name Max.

A beautiful, bizarre, non-stop, pure adrenaline action ride. This is filmmaking at its best. The stunts, the choreography, the cinematography -- all perfect. Plus Hardy and Theron are amazing in the lead roles. This is one of those rare films where anything less than a 10/10 is insulting. Bravo, Mr. Miller!

Liked it a lot, 8/10

Thought it was great, but there's not many movies I would give a 10/10 to... It started a little too fast for me as for the first 45 mins or so I was kind of like "wtf is going on"... But after hardy and Theron got together, it got really good from then on. From the Canyons on I thought it was balls to the wall awesome and the last half hour or so was perfect. My brother leaned over and said "now xxxx just needs to die in a VERY satisfying way"... And that was answered about two mins later in

I had a great time and laughed, gasped and cheered - definitely worth the ticket price this weekend

I was planning on taking my daughter to see it in the IMAX by me, but they still had AoU playing (for the third freaking week in a row). So we saw it in a good-sized theater, but I can't imagine how amazing it must have been on the big screen.

Holy Hell

Talk about a wild ride. After the opening chase, I noticed how much I had been holding my breathe throughout so much of it. My heart was racing. The casting was amazing and George Miller was in true form as director. Visually every shot was perfectly painted and the practical effects left my jaw open so much during the film. I was hard to imagine anyone else other than Mel Gibson as Max, but I'm sure I will warm up more and more as I watch this film again and again to Tom Hardy as Max. I

Insane movie. I definitely want to see it again!

My wife who normally hates action movies that begin and never end enjoyed it immensely. I think because of the way it carries itself.
It takes itself serious and lets you know it's not playing games right from the beginning.
My theather had a huge clapping at the end and as I walked out there was tons of peeps dressed in costume ready in line for the next showing. It was awesome.
Definitely one of the best action movies I've seen.

Had a blast. Loved all the weird side characters. Hardy and Theron were terrific and Rosie Huntington Whiteley didn't feel like a superemodel trying to act which was cool. The rest of the cast was great and of course the action was balls to the wall. My one complaint is after all the great reviews and hype there was more cgi than I had expected. It was also very noticable. I'm going to see it again tonight in imax 3d so I hope it looks better. A minor complaint but it keeps it from one

I'll share that thought on the CGI.

I did notice it when it was there and thought it was a lot more often than lead to believe. At the same time though, it was only used to fill in negative work that would have looked ugly or maybe impossible to shoot? It was not by any means used to make up for lazy directing work as so often it is in action movies.

I agree. I feel bad complaining about it. If we hadn't been hearing about how 90% of the effects were practical I probably wouldn't have cared. Fantastic movie, fully expecting to enjoy it even more the second time.

**** am I going to be that guy? Of course I have high praise for the action, its fascinating, barren world and for trying to convey deeper issues at a level that isn't obvious or in your face about it. Its a darn cool movie, but its not top tier stuff. For a movie with the main characters name in the title, its Theron's character who becomes more focused and Max's voice has bits of Bane all over it, it was a big distractor for me. A cool movie again I'll say it, like a big stunt show of great

The action was the main character.
Also max at this point isn't a hero (thunderdome is where he takes on a more heroic role - even then it's only in the last act) furiosa is a hero. Helping the girls etc. but you see she still had hope of a better tomorrow. Max never had that so its hard for him to have a big arc because he doesn't change, that's kind of the point.
The movie is about the world it creates and the characters that live there. They are all mad.

Ok I am a mega mad max fan. Just wanted to state that up front.
What road warrior did for action movies back in the day is what this movie does for today. And it's a lot harder to impress nowadays.
The "no plot" complaint. The plot is simple but that what it's supposed to be. The plot of a Charlie Chaplin film is usually simple too. Or Marx brothers or buster Keaton etc. the point is their humour, and the films are usually an excuse to show off their skills. Same here. Besides their was so

If this movie was going to be Lego there would be 20 play sets for fuck sakes. You can make every character into an action figure.
Miller always creates iconic villains. Joe is already a fuckng top villain. We don't see those anymore.
The action is so amazing. When you see a crazy ass stunt in other movies that use cgi etc you know it's fake even if you are caught up in the film, but when you see a less crazy stunt done in real life it's twice as impressive even though it's less crazy.
I could go on and on but this movie is a masterpiece. Miller knows what made the other trilogy so great and was able to capture it. Unlike Spielberg and Lucas who lost their touch.

Tom Hardy's Mad Max was a non-factor. I almost wish it hadn't been about him. He's not a character. He's barely "in it" in an action-sense. Charlize Theron? Amazing. Rosie Huntington-Wheatley? Who knew she could act! As a feminism film I give Mad Max: Fury Road an A+; as a post-apocalyptic action flick ,I give it an A-; as a Mad Max entry I give it a C.

I'm going to be so pissed off if Pitch Perfect 2 beats out Mad Max: Fury Road at the box office.
I don't fucking get it? The same old shitty teen flicks, and repeated superhero flicks continue to bank in big bucks at the box office, but when we FINALLY get a "great" fucking film it makes barely enough for studios execs to want to invest in a film like this again.
Please don't let this be the result for Mad Max. GO SEE THIS FILM!!!!
Internationally, Fury Road is going great, much better

Good, not great. Some pretty bad CGI backgrounds and driving scenes repeatedly took me out of the action (which was probably good because the action was fucking relentlessly awesome!). And who woulda thought that MAD MAX would be the weakest link in a MAD MAX movie. Hardy seemed partially checked out... while Charlize was lighting shit up all movie long! Worthy effort and better than most. See it and decide!

Um, most of the digital matte paintings were fake as shit. The Citadel, fake as shit cheap CG. But the movie was awesome despite this. Bad CG work during obvious green screen close-ups in automobiles. But the movie is so fucking rad, it was okay. it kinda lent to the 80's b-movie feel of the film. I really liked it. But some things bothered me. All apologies.

Just a stunning piece of film; great performances by Hardy, Theron and Hoult, amazing stunts and cinematography, boss soundtrack (got home and bought it on itunes right away). People need to get the word out to go so this movie over shit like Pitch Perfect.

Well my review is pretty simple. Fury road is basically a two hour version of the tanker scene from road warrior. And granted they did a hell of a job with the action and effects, but it didn't feel like the story ever went anywhere. They literally ended up where they started. And I really wasn't a fan of all the drums and the guitar guy, that just didn't make and sense. Hardy was awesome though, man of few words just like Gibson's Max, and he nailed the look and the attitude. I

I totally see your point. But then there's also the point that's it's just awesome as what it is and set out to be. I guess you can nit pick a FEW things about it but I'm just taking it all in for what it was...and by God I accept it!

I'll admit to not having the strongest emotional connection to the first three Mad Max films so maybe that's why I didn't enjoy this as much as others did, but this is a belated fourth instalment done right. There was the fear that it could've ended up like Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, but this is very much in the spirit of the original trilogy while going at a much faster pace. Definitely loved how tactile all the car stunts were and Charlize Theron is awesome going the

I feel very similarly about this as I did the 2012 Dredd movie.

WITNESS BROTHERS!

The Bad: Linear plot, predictable and could have done more with the multiple groups and other villains.
The good: Let the flames kiss your face and the sulfur burn your nostrils, holy @#$% the action.
The High Points: The practical non-CGI action that comply with the basics of newtons 3 law of motion. It was a joy to watch the intricate ballet of actions. Every scene was plausible and executed beautifully. I stand and applaud the incredible hard work of the Action Director (Guy Norris),

Every scene was plausible and executed beautifully. I stand and applaud the incredible hard work of the Action Director (Guy Norris), the 100+ stunt drivers, doubles, crazys and entire Second Unit team who brought Millers script and vision to apocalyptic life. I do enjoy seeing what those crazy computer wizards can make magically appear on screen, but I bow to those who go out and do it.
The Great: The War Boys; giving the expendable players a purpose and drive (pun intended) other than getting killed is just one example of the rich palate of crazy that is Fury Road.

Rating: Pure 10 for action flicks! 8 in all.

Well let me just say I would never expect an action movie to get not one but TWO perfect scores from this site. It just may be enough to convince to see it after all.

There might be hope for you after all! I haven't seen yet it but this cant be hype. Even stiff upper lip kind of critics are joining this party.

This reviewer put it best. "Two hours of action scenes that are well crafted, but entirely lacking in suspense".

I actually agree with Bob. It was really cool action but I never cared enough about the characters to feel genuinely worried about them.

Agree, but what action move of this degree can balance suspense and action. The Matrix and Speed pop to mind but they didn't have a flame throwing guitar player! JK and you bring up a good point. Suspense, twists and unpredictability are key components to great story telling. If you got that and can add in insane action you need to pitch that B#$% to who ever has the cash to make it happen.

Rollercoaster!

This was amazing, engrossing, and brilliant! The wicked sense of humor and incredible pace fuse nicely, and the cast was all perfect. I'd be surprised if I see a better movie all year. Operatic and beautiful.

Fucking well worth the wait. Just got out of my first viewing. Heading back into the theater after some Qdoba for round 2.

2 things,

1. I may change my user name to Mad Matt...

2.To quote another Road Warrior from around that same time frame

"Awwwwwww what a rush!"

After sitting through the awful 'Age of Ultron';experiencing this movie was a brilliant breath of fresh air. 95% of the effects in Fury Road were practicle, which is both amazing and insane. The 70 year old George Miller has still got it! I'd like to see Hollywood give the 68 year old John Carpenter another shot as well. I'd be first in line for 'Escape from Earth'.

Mad is right.

Holy f*cking shit, man. Holy..f*cking..shit. 120mins of pure, adrenaline-fueled insanity that's raw and gritty but also wonderfully stylized to create this hellish, post-apocalyptic wasteland that Max and his friends and foes inhabit. I'm a huge Marvel fan, but there's no denying that Mad Max is the better movie this summer, and will go down as one of the best movies of the year. WIll view this multiple times on the big screen for sure.
