When Star Wars met Dr. Seuss

I’ve logged some serious time with Dr. Seuss over the years. My favorite book was “And to Think I Saw It on Mulberry Street”. Also since it’s December, THE GRINCH will be playing on television. I’m talking about the cartoon version, not the live-action one with Jim Carrey.

This cool new Seuss re-invention came from the same source that provided the touching story of ROBOCOP boy. Cartoon blogger Adam Watson had a great idea one day to merge the Seuss world with Star Wars. How cool would that have been to learn the Star Wars universe through Dr. Seuss books? I would have been even more frantic about it. “Mom, when you come home you better have the next book about Cloud City.” Sadly, I never got to say these words.

Watson created some pretty cool pieces that you can check out over on his blog. This is what he had to say about the drawings, “This is a little project that, as is often the case, started off as a throwaway doodle. With a little encouragement from my friend Tom Dougherty, (link on the right) I turned it into several drawings. What’s fun is that the Star Wars universe really blends with the goofy, strangely-named world of Dr. Seuss pretty easily. I have a couple more of these up my sleeve which I hope I can get around to soon. Stay tuned, and enjoy!”
