Whet your appetite for Prometheus with this teaser for the new trailer

Mar. 12, 2012by:

The new trailer for PROMETHEUS premieres this Saturday, but you can catch a glimpse of what's to come in this new teaser for the trailer now.  This new "teaser for a trailer" thing is kind of annoying, but if you're chomping at the bit to get even just a few small snippets of footage then it's easy to overlook.  It's a small investment of time anyway.

Sneak a peak below:

Prometheus is lining up to be one of the biggest films of the year as anticipation for the film has surged since the first trailer hit.  Obviously, having director Ridley Scott returning to the roots of the ALIEN franchise is worth getting riled up over, but the story direction he's headed has peaked curiosity on the project in a big way. Although we have a pretty good idea of what the film will explore, I think everyone is exceptionally curious as to how the whole thing will tie into our beloved slobber-fanged, acid-bleeding, wall-crawling aliens.

We'll find out the answers on June 1, 2012.

Extra Tidbit: What's your theory on how the "traditional" aliens will tie into Prometheus?

Looks like a trailer for an Alien reboot. Spaceship lands on alien planet, vehicles travel out searching for 'life'. Lots on tension on board then a facehugger strikes!

MY THOUGHTS ...

... aliens are gonna be in some form in the movie. I mean, come on. We have Weyland, Space Jockey and possible facehugers in the trailer. Ridley is obviously creating hype by misleading everybody that this is not Alien prequel, and yet we are being teased with all tie-ins to the Alien universe. I believe more in what I see then what Ridley says, we're gonna see some aliens or at least facehugers, even if it's only for a second.

Most anticipated movie of the year? More like most anticipated movie of the last 20 years.

Have I missed something?

I thought Prometheus was set in the same universe and used the Space Jockey as a plot device, but that there would be no links to our "beloved slobber-fanged, acid-bleeding, wall-crawling aliens". Have I missed something? I don't want to get my hopes up and expect anything related to xenomorphs if Ridley Scott hasn't admitted anything new since his last statement.

The movie looks visually stunning which is great, but I am dieing to hear some dialogue between the characters.

My take on Prometheus

Here is my take on prometheus. I believe that the "Space Jockey" from Alien is in fact a creation from the huge Blue guy in the Prometheus trailer. I believe they were engineered to lay eggs similar to the queen Alien's eggs which have a face hugger like organism in them but different. I think they were engineered this way and that their only purpose was to sit and lay eggs. And in fact the chair that the Space Jockey is sitting in is not a huge gun but a device to help in laying it's eggs in

I think they were engineered this way and that their only purpose was to sit and lay eggs. And in fact the chair that the Space Jockey is sitting in is not a huge gun but a device to help in laying it's eggs in the stone like columns from the trailer.

However something goes wrong somewhere and the organism inside the egg gets to the space jockey sitting on the chair and lays its embryo inside the space jockey itself. Ultimately the space jockey then is the host for something totally different than what the huge blue guys were expecting. The different outcome is actually the alien Queen. This is where the Alien Queen came from. Because all the other human hosts give birth to the same looking xenomorph and never a queen exempt for the horrible Alien 3 but besides that.

And that is how it is linked to the Alien world because it will reveal to us how exactly the Xenomorph to be more specific the Alien Queen came to be through a mistake from the big blue guys and through the Space Jockey host. Which leads to an Alien Queen being left at LV-426 to lead us to Alien and into Aliens.

Tidbit

Possible Spoilers:

Prometheus is going to explain the origin of "our beloved slobber-fanged, acid-bleeding, wall-crawling aliens. The last shot of the movie is going to show "our" alien hissing to the camera... mouth opening and the inner jaw biting to the camera. The End.
