What the heck is the deal with this ARTHUR remake? First Russell Brand is parading around in a Batman suit (made hilarious really only because he's being accompanied by the awesome Luis Guzman as Robin... oh, and let's not forget... the f*cking Batmobile, too?) and now this? Thanks to his character's great wealth, does he buy the car or have somebody build it for him? It's just... shit, I don't know. I'm just not feeling anything I've seen from this one at all. Am I alone here?

ARTHUR is set to open sometime next year.

I can see where they're going. Rich guy, has a lot of stuff and free time. The original film emphasized that with the all the kid's toys, pointing out Arthur's immaturity. It looks like they're merely upping the game with this one.

No, we're not giving it shit because it's a 30 year-old film being remade with modern references. We're giving it shit because Russell Brand is fucking atrocious and this movie reeks of garbage. Sure, the pop culture references are there...but so is Russell Brand...and that makes said pop culture references look bad.

Some of us are actually quite entertained by Brand. I found Greek to be hilarious, and he was the best part about that film.

I guess they think adding some cool props from other movies will distract from the fact that this movie will most likely suck. I guess some people find Brand funny, but I'm not one of them.
