Will a star from Mission Impossible 3 visit a galaxy far, far away in Star Wars: Episode VII?

Star Wars

Ever since STAR WARS: EPISODE VII was officially announced there have been a lot of rumors about casting, especially involving original cast members Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill. But there hasn't been any solid news on which actors will be joining the franchise for the first time until now.

A source for Latino-Review has told the website that an actor that previously worked with director J.J. Abrams before in MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 3 is in talks to star in STAR WARS: EPISODE VII. Which actor you ask?

Jonathan Rhys-Meyers.

Meyers

Meyers has also starred in films such as FROM PARIS WITH LOVE, BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM and TITUS but he is probably most known for playing King Henry VIII on Showtime's The Tudors.  No news on who Meyers will be playing in STAR WARS: EPISODE VII and it's doubtful we'll hear a confirmation or a denial from someone involved with the film anytime time soon.

Jonathan Rhys-Meyers would be an outstanding addition to the new movie but until I read an actual official announcement on any STAR WARS: EPISODE VII related news I'm taking all rumors that surface with a major grain of salt. This rumor sounds fairly legit but there's always a chance that it's complete bullshit and even if it is true Meyers might turn the part down for whatever reason. It does sound like the studio is officially looking for new cast members so there could be new rumors surfacing in the near future.

Production on STAR WARS: EPISODE VII is set to start next year and should be in theaters sometime in 2015.
