Will Ferrell is going to help Steve Carell leave The Office

It’s not quite the much-demanded ANCHORMAN sequel, but former newsmen Will Ferrell and Steve Carell will be reuniting on the small screen. (Let’s just all forget their previous reunion BEWITCHED, huh?)

As Carell cleans off his desk and prepares to exit “The Office”, Ferrell plans to stop by NBC’s cubicle cringe-comedy and help him out the door.

Ferrell will show up in a 4-episode arc as the season winds down, playing a branch manager from the home office who turns out to be as clueless as Carell’s Michael Scott. Seems logical.

“The Office” exec producer Paul Lieberstein had this to say: “We found Steve Carell when he was nothing but a movie star and we turned him into a television star. We are proud to continue The Office‘s tradition of discovering famous talent, and we hope that once America gets a good look at Will, they’ll see what we see: tremendous raw sexuality.”
