Will it be The World's End this September when Pegg, Frost, and Wright reunite?

The World's End brainstorming tease picture

Please forgive me Peter Jackson, George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, and anyone else out there who can claim a trilogy of awesomeness to their name - your contributions to cinema are about to be eclipsed as the greatest trilogy ever conceived will soon begin its final stage of completion in September with THE WORLD'S END. The third part of what is known alternatively as "The Blood and Ice Cream Trilogy" or "The Three Flavors Cornetto Trilogy," this final film follows the precedent of fantastic filmmaking set by Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost with SHAUN OF THE DEAD and HOT FUZZ

Shaun of the Dead three reunion

With a Spring 2013 release window in mind, THE WORLD'S END was written by Wright and Pegg and tells the story of how "20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries."

There's only one thing that could make this more awesome to me, and that would be for some Cthulhu Mythos to have found their way into the script as a part of the world's aforementioned end.  Think it could happen? Conversely, how do you imagine Wright and Pegg might have written the potential end of the world?

Hot Fuzz three together

Extra Tidbit: Word is that once THE WORLD'S END is completed Wright will move on to THE NIGHT STALKER with Johnny Depp.

I'm Ready for The World's End!!

I can't tell you how I've been waiting on pins and needles for this announcement. These guys, in my eyes, can do no wrong when they are together. Shaun of the Dead being one of my favorite movies of all time and Hot Fuzz being a perfect buddy cop film, this third one will be..... well.... world ending. But I hope, that maybe a few more years down the road, they'll team up again. Hail them!!!!!!!!

I can't wait for this, as a HUGE fan of their prior work (I'm actually one of the few who prefer Hot Fuzz to Shsun).
Still, they're gonna have to chance "At World's End" I would think with the [link] "End of the World" coming out at the same time.

Hoo-AAH!!

Seems like I am waiting forever for this to come, finally. Recently rewatched their first collaboration, the british comedy Spaced, and it was really entertaining (maybe not as great as the 2 films, but still awesome). I'll watch anything these guys bring to the table, now and in the distant future when robots will rise (obviously).

I could see otherworldly creatures coming into this, seeing how Wright's SCOTT PILGRIM was cgi-happy.
