Will Tony Scott take on Lucky Strike with Vince Vaughn next?

Feb. 15, 2012by:

We haven't seen anything from Tony Scott since UNSTOPPABLE, which was fairly entertaining. That was 2010 and it seems that it's taken awhile for Scott to figure out which film to take on next.

The helmer's name has been thrown back and forth for certain projects, but he has yet to really commit to anything. Scott is actually closer than you think to slapping his name on a project. It looks like LUCKY STRIKE is the one in the lead.

Vince Vaughn is set to star in the action film in which a DEA agent teams with a drug runner to take down a drug cartel. The film would have, "a potential late summer or early fall start date and Emmett/Furla Films funding the $80 million film and 20th Century Fox distributing."

Vaughn in a role like this? I'd see it. Better than any recent comedies he's signed on to do.

In Tony Scott I Trust!

The man can make an action movie out of anything. I'm guessing Vince will be the agent mainly because he already did try his hand at playing a drug-runner in the Starsky & Hutch remake and we all know how that turned out :D

I was hoping for...

His take on Potsdamer Platz. I know there is a good fan base of J. Statham fans on the site, as am I and was hoping maybe him and Mr. T. Scott would hook up...to be continued...

I miss the Vince Vaugh pre-Old School. when he took risks like Return to Paradise and the Prime Gig- hell, even the ill-conceived Psycho remake was a commendable effort from the dude. I would welcome a Vaughn led straight-drama or thriller.

A lot of people forget how talented Vince Vaughn is. He did some excellent work before his streak of comedies where he started sticking with the same general routine (Into The Wild was a cool break from that in recent years). I'm absolutely on board with this and look forward to it!

Don't forget his stellar dramatic turn in Return to Paradise. That was a really great flick and Vaughn was fantastic in it!
