Williams, Sudeikis, Kudrow, and Forte round out the cast of Booksmart comedy

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Annapurna Pictures has announced that principal photography has begun on the studio's upcoming comedy BOOKSMART. Also included in the official press release was confirmation that Beanie Feldstein (NEIGHBORS 2: SORORITY RISING), Kaitlyn Dever (DETROIT, JUSTIFIED). Jessica Williams (THE DAILY SHOW), Jason Sudeikis (COLOSSAL), Lisa Kudrow (ROMY AND MICHELE'S HIGH SCHOOL REUNION), Will Forte (MACGRUBER) and Mike O'Brien (JUST FRIENDS) have each signed on to star in the film.

Directed by TRON: LEGACY and HOUSE actress Olivia Wilde, BOOKSMART follows Dever and Feldstein's characters, two academic superstars and best friends who, on the eve of their high school graduation, suddenly realize that they should have worked less and played more. Determined never to fall short of their peers, the girls set out on a mission to cram four years of fun into one night.

The original script is by Emily Halpern and Sarah Haskins, with current revisions by Katie Silberman. Now that filming is underway, it's been said that the new additions to the film's cast will be joined by a number of talented actors and comedians whose stars are on the rise: Molly Gordon, Billie Lourd, Skyler Gisondo, Noah Galvin, Diana Silvers, Mason Gooding, Victoria Ruesga, Austin Crute, Eduardo Franco and Nico Hiraga.

How would you cram four years of fun into one night? My night would likely involve a series of concerts in and around the New York City area, with performances at the Williamsburg Music Hall, The Knitting Factory, Le Poison Rogue, Beacon Theater, and Hammerstein Ballroom. On my journey, I'd be sipping on a never-ending flask filled with Rip Van Winkle Whiskey. Let us know how you'd rock out in the comments section below.
