Willis, Weaver and Cavill to see the Cold Light of Day

JCVD director Mabrouk El Mechri has landed himself a pretty impressive cast for his kidnap thriller, THE COLD LIGHT OF DAY. It was announced a few days ago that Cavill would star, but now the film has the two big guns of Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver onboard.

The plot? From Heat Vision:

The story centers on a cocky young Wall Street trader who reluctantly vacations with his family in Spain. When his family is kidnapped, he is thrust into a government conspiracy and must unravel his father's darkest secret in order to save his loved ones.

Alright, so I’ll assume that Weaver and Willis will be the father and mother, but I suppose either one could be bad guys if the film wanted to mix it up a bit. I’d love to see either in a villainous role in a movie like this, and I have a hard time that anyone could kidnap Bruce Willis without getting their ass handed to them.

In any case, this certainly has now become a project to watch, and yes, I did avoid describing this as “TAKEN with a family.” Just because a movie is about kidnapping does not mean it’s TAKEN.

Extra Tidbit: If Sigourney Weaver and Bruce Willis actually had a kid, it would probably grow up to be the most badass onscreen killing machine of all time.

Story sounds generic enough. Definitely going to need to see some footage before getting behind this one.

"JCVD" was great. Willis and Weaver could be great, especially if one (or both) is (are) bad. Cavill, I'm unfamiliar with, but am still looking forward to this.

I'm very over Weaver these days. Her role had importance in Avatar and she wasn't even interesting, BUT that's beside the point. The plot sounds interesting. I'll wait for a trailer.

After watching Sigourney Weaver walk around blindly and painfully deliver awful one-liners in Avatar I'm not sure I want to see her in a movie again.

At least put the blame where the blame is due... on James Cameron.

I actually read that Weaver is playing the villain in this movie, which got me even more excited for this film.
