Strike Back below!
by: Dave Davis Aug. 29, 2008

We know how the young hotness of Mary Elizabeth Winstead looks as a cheerleader (thanks, QT!), but how will she do as a rollerskating kung-fu courier? We'll find out -- Winstead is already getting prepared for her role in SCOTT PILGRIM vs. THE WORLD, the next film from our beloved Edgar Wright (SHAUN OF THE DEAD).

"I have a film I'm going to start, with Michael Cera and directed by Edgar Wright, called SCOTT PILGRIM vs. THE WORLD," she tells Moviehole. "I'm extremely excited about it. I actually just started Kung-Fu training for it today!"

Based on Bryan O'Malley's rather awesome series of graphic novels, the story follows the Toronto slacker of the title, who splits his time between playing in his rock band Sex Bob-omb and doing battle with the seven evil exes of his foxy but mysterious new girl Ramona. Warp-holes, videogame power-ups and general chaos ensues.

And no, it's not really news, except to verify that PILGRIM will be Wright's next project and is ramping up soon. Plus, an excuse to post pics of Winstead. Gimme an A!

while that premise given doesn't sell the book as well as it should, trust me, the graphic novels are amazing, and wright is the perfect man for the job

Mary Elizabeth Winstead is insanely cute. I just can't stop watching her, and trust me, I'm no pervert.

This is all good news.

LoL...Though she is seriously hot. No joke. This looks like it will seriously kick ass. Scott Pilgrim looks like a great book and Edgar Wright is fucking awesome and I think he'll make it work.

Where's James Thoo in all this BTW?

Glad to hear Pilgrim is up and going rampant.

That is all.

Oh, and I love you, Edgar Wright.
