Strike Back below!
by: Dave Davis Nov. 17, 2008

Oh, The Rock. How I miss the guy who once strutted about pounding large men and demanding his cooking be smelled, and then took those man-pounding skills to the big screen (only to deliver some sad action steamers).

Exit The Rock; Enter Dwayne Johnson, the family (and fiscally) friendly Disney star, now ostensibly headlining a follow-up to the 1975 kid-flick ESCAPE FROM WITCH MOUNTAIN. In RACE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN, the former geological object plays a Vegas cabbie who assists some extraterrestrial youngsters with a predilection for property damage. Kids today.

Check out the trailer out below or in HD at Yahoo.

Extra Tidbit: The movie is directed by Andy Fickman, who hastened the devolution of The Rock's career as an action star with THE GAME PLAN.

It's actually Escape TO Witch Mountain.

Return FROM Witch Mountain is the subpar sequel.

I used to love the original 2 films when I was a kid, and when I saw the title of this article in the index I wasn't really expecting it to have a connection to the originals.

I was gladly mistaken.

I was never a big fan of WWF...infact, I was never a fan at all, but I have seen a fair few of "The Rock"s films, and enjoyed some of them as mindless action flicks.

This looks great though. It still has a connection with the original films, but is much more modern.

I'll be watching this as soon as I can ^_^

I love The Rock and Carla Gugino makes me tingle all over every time i look at her. But man I miss when the Rock was doing solid action movies. Guess I'll just watch the Rundown and cry

In all fairness
I never was into WWF, and actually wanted him to drop the nickname. And this looks like the most "character" I've seen him do, albeit in kid-friendly territory. And that's where things go down-hill. On the bright side it's also got Carla Gugino and Ciaran Hinds, who are both at least decent in everything they do, but I don't usually.watch kid-friendly live-action entertainment unless there's a...

Or I'm bored and something's on HBO. Oh, and I don't get cable, so scratch that.
