Usually the words, good news and Teen Choice awards don't go together, but just this once they do.

After accepting his award for Choice movie actor for Wolverine, Jackman gave some details on the sequel, "Japan is where we're heading, [and] we're starting to work on it now. We're in ... the first steps of developing that story." This is really exciting news, since fans were originally hoping that the Wolvie series would get to that story. Apparently he knows this as well, "I think the fans love that saga. It's my favorite saga of the Wolverine stories. That's a movie I've longed to make from the beginning, so that's where we're heading." Honestly, I really think it's everyone's favorite saga.

I remember when I first got into comics around 9, and my Dad had this huge fascination with "Weapon X". I never really got into it until later on. I still actually own some of the originals. When I saw WOLVERINE: ORIGINS, it was a letdown. Everything about it was goofy for the most part. It seemed a little rushed really, especially with the Deadpool plot.

The Japan story is the one told by Frank Miller and Chris Claremont, where Wolverine ventures to Japan to find his love, Mariko Yashida. Logan is a ronin, a samurai without a master. In the series while searching out his love, he battles with The Hand and Japanese underground crimelords. It's an amazing storyline if you haven't already read it, and deserves good onscreen treatment.

Even though I laughed through the majority of Origins, I am one to give a second chance and hope that they do this one right. Or I might just loose it.

$5 bucks says they ruin this one too
First of all,

Wolverine invites the X-men to come to the Wedding. Which i guess won't happen since they killed them all off in X3. Way to go Hollywood. Way to turn Marvel into a whore.

A Good Cast for this? How bout a 5'3 Wolverine instead of 6'4 Pretty boy Hugh Jackass.

Love Being Right!
I said it way before the Origins movie was announced. The only interesting Wolverine story is the one of his time spent in Japan, then they gave you a little taste at the end of Origins. My advice Mr. Jackman is get REAL Japanese actors, keep the focus on Logan and the Yashida clan and try not to over do it with cameos except of course for the Hand, make them bad ass. lol! He got into Weapon X in the early 90s, passed the time it had already come out. My Dad's all of 44, I'm 24.

i can't see them making this work
The Japan stories were dark, harsh and overly violent. There is no chance that this will work out. We're going to end up with the Silver Samurai fighting wolverine with powers he has no right to for zero reason! This movie is bound to suck cause Fox doesn't have the balls to make it right.

Am I the only one who actually really enjoyed Wolverine Origins? I thought it was excellent, though dead pool needed a lot more screen time. I'm hip to this news. Bring it on!

WHY DO PEOPLE STILL HOPE?
I don't understand it. I gave up hope on Marvel flicks that were NOT done by Marvel Studios themselves the moment I saw Spider-Man 3. Actually I gave up expectations on all adaptations except Batman, which is probably why I LOVED Transformers 2 and actually had fun at Wolverine. Does that mean I think it's a good movie? No way. It's still a dumb-as-shit film which had so much potential yet...

So why do people still care for the next Wolverine to be like Frank Miller's or gritty or THE Wolverine flick everyone's been waiting for? We already know it's going to suck on ape-sized elephant nuts and just be another lackluster moneymaker aimed at selling action figures. Why bother?

Like most of you, I was extremely let down by Wolverine: Origins. I'd almost be inclined to say more so than X-Men 3. I still can't believe how lame the Weapon X sequence was, not to mention how it bore no continuity whatsoever with the flashbacks from the previous X-Men flicks and those goddamn amnesia bullets still piss the hell out of me.

Like Maximum Sauce, if they get a new, capable, writer and director for this then I'll start getting excited. But until then I'm on the fence.

Hugh Jackman REALLY seems to love this story - He actually wanted to do this for the first Wolverine flick.

I hope they get a new director, though. Some of the action just looked so stupid, like Agent Zero magically jumping over that huge-ass fence, and the bit with Wolverine destroying the fire escape. If they get a new writer and director, I'll start getting excited for...

I thought Gambit was the best part of the movie, too, along with Sabertooth. If any mutants have to be shoehorned into this one, I hope it's those two. I definitely want to see more of Gambit, he's been my favorite character as long as I can remember.

This movie is going to feature numerous plot holes, random character appearances, and an ending that in no way connects to the previous X-Men trilogy. Great news!

They need to hire a director who can actually direct some action. Not Gavin Hood. They also need to lay off the CGI.

They could set this entire movie in a strip club run by jedi and pirates and it would still suck because they have no idea how to treat the character. Wolverine has enormous internal conflict and instead of showing the baby killing weapon x badass who is constantly fighting against his inner animal, we always get a hairy momma's boy sobbing over whatever love interest the studio has decided to...

Wolverine has enormous internal conflict and instead of showing the baby killing weapon x badass who is constantly fighting against his inner animal, we always get a hairy momma's boy sobbing over whatever love interest the studio has decided to focus on. Unleash the beast, kill some innocents, feel bad later, and eliminate the crying and the movie will kick ass even if wolverine's day job is bridge inspector in Madison County.

On a different note, i'm not opposed to replacing Jackman all together.

Really?
You know - it sounds like a cool storyline...I'm just not sure how it fits into the storyline of where Wolverine ends and X-Men picks up. I mean sure, they have to do something...but it just seemed to flow so smoothly from one movie to the next...never really thought about Wolverine - Samurai guy.

I agree that Origins was a pretty big disappointment. It seemed rushed and all that jazz. One of the only redeeming qualities of it was Gambit. I know that I will probably get ripped apart for saying that but he was the only thing that I enjoyed about it. Hopefully they learn from their mistakes and actually use the source material instead of wipe their ass with it.
