Wolvie game trailer

It's just a few more weeks before X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE hits screens (legally), upon which time you'll also have the opportunity to take control of Hugh Jackman's digital equivalent in the official video game.

As with most tie-in games, the story will likely take major liberties with the source material to provide players with more punch (or slice, as the case may be), but the movie's elements seem intact judging from this new trailer's appearance/narration by Gambit.

I have to admit, the idea of carving through random henchmen, supporting characters and a gigantic Sentinel is an attractive opportunity. Let's hope the game meets such promise.

Extra Tidbit: Like the praised RIDDICK game, WOLVERINE features the authorized likeness and creative input of the film's star.

While parts of this sound promising, I already got burned by X2: Wolvie's Revenge, which was fun for the time: 2002 (pre X-Men Legends, Ultimate Alliance, etc) It is great that Jackman's such an uber-fan of the character that he's putting in all this effort, even into the game tie-in. If the movie or game blow, it won't be from his lack of trying.

Really the only game I care about that's coming out is Arkham Asylum..

raven

I think we're gonna finally see a movie-game that doesn't suck. It's made by Raven Software and published by Activision. These 2 companies brought us other great games like Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy, so they know how to do a great game. I just hope they've put the senses mode in the game as well (like in Wolverines Revenge)

I totally wanna reserve judgement on this...

especially after seeing this 2nd trailer now. But the fact that the release date of the game and movie are the same, just SCREAMS bargain bin like Spider-Man 3 and Superman Returns were/are.

TCoR:EfBB and S-M2 are like the only sole exceptions that I know of out of countless failed movie-to-videogame adaptations.

I think I'll wait until Game Informer or Game Pro have the final say.
