Wolvie gets profiled

Apr. 13, 2009by: Omar Aviles

MTV recently posted some character profiles of five of the ten thousand or so mutants present in the upcoming X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE. Most of them are so-so except for Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson aka Deadpool. The way he deadpans his lines is pretty funny. And, come on, Gambit plays for keeps? Let's hope he doesn't actually say that in the movie. In any case, check out all of them below. We find out the origins of Wolverine and his crazy adamantium claws on May 1st.

Extra Tidbit: If this bombs, you guys think that Deadpool movie will actually happen?

I dont want to start an argument Elessar83 but the score can set the tone for the entire film The music could evoke feelings that the workprints music could not. Now I am not willing to rest all of the film's laurels on just the score alone.
As for the director, Gavin Hood is a pretty talented director who really should not be judged the same as Uwe Boll. If you haven't seen Rendition I suggest you check it out. That was a well crafted film.

I'm still not sold...

I don't see how changing the score is going to make the movie go from being Uwe Boll status to Bryan Singer status. The script sucks, and the director suck. That's a hard combination to overcome for ANY movie.

And just because Fast & Furious blew the doors off the box office, doesn't guarantee that Wolvie will. I'd $30 - $50 million opening weekend, topping out around $85 - $100 million.

Music

Fox said that the music in the workprint was not the music that will appear in the final print. If the music in these promos is any indication of what to expect for the score I expect that this film will be given a very mature edge.

Daredevil did not bomb and you would be saying the same about Wolverine on May 3rd. It is destined to make over 100M first weekend and 250M Total (Domestic).

All those bootleggers and naysayers wait for the final product to make your comments. This may not be another Dark Knight but definitely would be in the range of other X-Men.

FYI: Daredevil didn't bomb either...

Daredevil's estimated budget was 78 million...it grossed 102 million in the US alone. I believe it made another 77 million or so worldwide. Definitely NOT a flop.

Anyone who thinks this movie isn't gonna to make a killing at the Box Office needs a Lobotomy. It's guaranteed money. The only real question is exactly how big that pile of cash will be.

Great user name and great call on the claws. Ive thought the CGI has looked pretty stellar up until that scene, and that just looked ridiculous.

But I hope it does well just so that I can see a full length Deadpool movie. Hopefully Ryan Reynolds will star again, cuz he looks fantastic in this.

I've beensaying it for months on this website. The more and more I see of this movie, the cheesier and less interesting it becomes. I really don't think this movie will do well. It'll lose 60% of it's audience after opening weekend.

Btw.. how horrible r Wolvie's claws in the last 10 seconds of the Gambit spot?

Ayestrain..

I was just about to type the same thing lol I doubt this film will bomb, it wont be of Dark Knight-esque proportions but it will do handsomely, i think. I could care less for a Magneto film, they showed his motivation in the first X-Men, pretty straight forward...Im friends with a bunch of fans of the films and comics and we all just dont care...

Looking forward to a deadpool film though, im REALLY hoping for it. Hes a very underrated character even in the comics and deserves some

^ Liev Shrieber's is fucking great, and rather chilling: "I'm just an animal who dreamed he was a man.."

Wolvie won't bomb--it may fall well short of the Fox exec's greed however. We'll still get a Deadpool film.

I still think a "Magneto" movie is a stupid idea though.

project 86, hmmm, well i really do think the origin story of Magneto is just more interesting than the story of Wolverine. It looks like David Goyer also wrote Magneto. I can't say much for his directing, but he does have at least a couple good writing credits.

Yeah, I heard that David Goyer was currently developing Magnet. I think it is currently in early stages of development. Last time I checked it was in pre production. I could be wrong on that though.

However I'm still really excited about seeing Wolverine on the big screen. I hope it ends up doing well. Hugh Jackman is one of the coolest guys in hollywood.

Daredevil bombed in the box office didn't it? (I don't remember) They still made Elektra...

Whatever happened to that idea of the Magneto origins movie?? That always seemed like a better idea than Wolverine to me.
