by: Mike Sampson Feb. 12, 2009

Those of you who watched the Super Bowl, went to the New York Comic Con and are going to WonderCon and are wondering why X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE was missing in action, now you have your reason. Fox just wanted to keep it in-house.

The studio announced today that they'll be releasing three extended promos for the film over three consecutive nights during Fox's prime time lineup. The ads, with each one leading into the next, will begin on Sunday during "Family Guy", continue on Monday during "House" and conclude on Tuesday during "American Idol". Together they'll form a three-minute narrative to promote the film, which hits theaters on May 1. On Tuesday after the last installment airs on TV, all three segments will debut on Yahoo! Movies. And to help celebrate, we're happy to bring you this EXCLUSIVE IMAGE from X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE!!

Fox has been experimenting with this type of advertising for a few months now and put together an effective campaign for TAKEN that ran during the NFL Playoffs and features a running narrative through a number of separate spots. It seemed to work for that movie but those spots ran across commercial breaks not across days.

I'm right here, dude. One of those people who takes Wolverine as his all-time favorite comic character next to the Bat, yet isn't hyped whatsoever about this movie. It looks like it's gonna' be fun, and nothing more. And Wolverine has so much more potential than just being fun, doesn't he? I could be wrong, but right now I see this movie as yet another easy money-maker for Fox and their clan.

Ok, WTF....tell me I'm wrong, but I thought that Wolverine had CLAWS as a mutant, but didn't even realize that he had them until the adamantium fusion process occurred, at which point they first popped out.

WTF is with this image then? "Origins" as in "we fucking made up our own origins"? Give the kid BONE claws and I'll consider it true to the comics, yes?

No he already had the claws naturally, the adamantium was fused to his bones as part of weapon X.

it wouldnt make sense if it was Jackman on the ground cuz thats supposed to be Wolverines "father". But if you read the Origin comic, youd notice that Wolverine ends up looking like the peasent worker for the Howlett family later on in his life. So his mother either cheated on her husband, or she was raped by the worker which created Wolverine.

So if Wolvie already had claws, and metal fused to his bones. What did the Weapon X program do to him?

*Spoilers*

No, Wolverine doesn't get his claws from Weapon X. It's part of his mutation. Because of his amnesia, it was always assumed the claws came from Weapon X. But in the comics Magneto ripped the adamantium out of him and thus discovered that he had bone claws all along, and which was established in the Orgin comic, which the movie is drawing from.

Origin
To answer any questions relating to why a child would have claws, head to your local comic/book store and pick up a copy of "Origin." It was a several-issue story about the clawed mutant's youth. The image shown is really of no surprise to anyone familiar with the Origin comics.

simple question...
I'm not an X-Men fanatic, so I don't know the answer to this...

Doesn't Wolverine get his claws in the weapon X program? Don't they choose him because he heals so fast so they put the adamantium (sp?) on his skeleton and give him his claws?

If so, why does kid wolverine have claws?
