Wolvie trailer when?

11.25.2008

Compared to this year, next summer looks a bit bleak for big comic book movies. But the WOLVERINE solo flick (oh, sorry -- X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE) might have enough mutants to make up for that by itself.

So when can you get your first good look at the adamantium-clawed renegade and his shadowy past? The full trailer will be premiering in theaters on December 12th, with the remake of THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL. So if you needed a better reason to see Keanu admonish our planet, Marvel's slashing beserker makes a convincing argument.

The trailer should be online shortly thereafter, whether in shitty cam bootleg or glorious Quicktime.

Arvindh, 20 years before the first X1?? Isn't there some WW2 stuff in there? Last I checked WW2 was in the 40's.

Also, this leads up to the opening scene of X1 with Wolvie and Rogue, so, gambit very easily could be introduced in the second part of the second act, closer to the time line for X1.

I cant wait for Deadpool. Ryan Rynolds will nail that part... hopefully. I like gambit, but not nearly as much as Deadpool.

X-MEN Origins: Weapon X...

...This should have been the title of this film since the film will introduce and tell the story of more X-MEN characters in the Weapon X program and not just Wolverine's.

I'm am so looking foward to this trailer and even more to the film, I really hope they don't screw this one up, X3 was a total let down and the main reason why people are still iffy about this Wolverine spin-off, but hey X2 is one f the best supehero films of all time so I know they can deliver a good X-MEN film, here's

Um, guys, you do know that there's a bootleg trailer out from comicon, right? The quality is extremely bad, but it is out there. If you can't find it anywhere else go to youtube. Last I checked (yesterday) it hadn't gotten purged yet.

Arvindh

"They need to show people that he isn't some hero. He's a merciless, unstable, animalistic human being in a lot of pain and rage. He's not some kid's idol."

This is just about the most ridiculous, 15 year old understanding of the character that I've ever seen. Have you ever even read a comic book, much less Wolverine comics? At no point in Wolverines long sordid history can he be described as merciless. Sure he has done some terrible things...but it's his internal struggle, his humanity

Sure he has done some terrible things...but it's his internal struggle, his humanity fighting against those animalistic urges you describe that make Wolverine so appealing. It's trying to appease comments like this one that will make this movie fail. That and the fact they thought it was a good idea to include a character who throws energy charged playing cards. 'Gambit gonna deal you a real nice hand, ma petty'. Please.

Wolvie-film will have to cover a pretty long, and probably loosely defined, time period. Gambit will presumably show up well after the World War part. Me too wanna see Deadpool, think they got the perfect actor there! Hope these guys are more than mere cameos. I'm worried about the studio too, but have high hopes from the director...just saw these rumours that his action scenes were lacking and had to be reshot?

Maybe I'm way too skeptical for my own good but I'm not looking forward to this movie all that much. I may have to take back my own words next year but for now...I'm not buying it. I have two favorite superheroes who have been my faves for over 17 years now; Wolverine and Batman. While Batman got everything he deserved with TDK, Wolverine is still stuck with 20th Century Fox and they know how to f**k up a movie. So I'm having nil expectations for now.

Wolverine needs to have gore. It needs

Wolverine needs to have gore. It needs to be gritty and dark. They need to show people that he isn't some hero. He's a merciless, unstable, animalistic human being in a lot of pain and rage. He's not some kid's idol. But I'm sure Fox will tell it otherwise. Plus, as much as I love the fact that we'll finally see some Gambit (even though Josh Holloway would have been way better as the Cajun), I'm not sure how he's even around 20years before the first X-Men movie. What does that make him now? 45?

See what I mean.

I figured it would be attached with TDTESS since there still hasn't been a trailer. Why couldn't they just release the Comic-Con teaser eventually? May 2009 will be epic for blockbusters.

Nobody can turn a motorbike like Wolvie! I cant believe all that time had to pass before we get a legit trailer, the first one looked pretty great.
