Woody Waxes Poetic

Woody Allen is perhaps the most celebrated living American filmmaker (sorry Martin and Steve). The genre-hopping auteur lays claim to some of the most iconic romances, comedies and thrillers of modern times. He is a celebrated actor, writer (director obv) and redfined what it means to be a New Yorker. If nothing else, the man has given hope to neurotic nerds everywhere that yes, it is possible to get the girl. I watch his films and I marvel at his genius, his uniquely cinematic mind, as he picks and chooses the best of European and American film and reappropriates it into an amalgam of literary, self-reflexive hysteria. Film school enough for you?
