Would you like to know who is currently negotiating to return for Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall?

Last week I reported about writer/director Jeff Wadlow's plans for the tone and direction of KICK-ASS 2: BALLS TO THE WALL, and the general consensus in the Strikeback comments seemed to be: "that's nice Jeff, but either give us Chloe Grace Moretz as Hit Girl or give us nothing at all." Well folks?

It seems like Wadlow agrees with you, as Moretz is currently negotiating her contract for the hyper-violent sequel. And she won't be alone, as Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Aaron Johnson are closing their own contracts. Hell, even Nicolas Cage will be coming back for a small cameo. Things were a bit dicey there for a while as none of the actors had options for a second movie in their original contracts, and there was a certain fear that the $103 million gross (off a $28 million budget) of KICK-ASS would inspire the stars to demand more than the producers wished to give.

But all is well in the land of balls and walls, and the planned fall shoot in London is looking more and more like a sure thing.

Extra Tidbit:	There was some talk that Aaron Johnson wouldn't return, and so the role of Kick-Ass himself would have to be recast. Would you fans of the original have been okay with that?

Aaron Johnson was the face of the movie, and Moretz was a great supporter. That made the movie. As for the tidbit, I would hate it for them to recast. It even pissed me off when they recasted Katie Holmes for Maggie in TDK.

Of course I liked Hit Girl, but Aaron Johnson's Kick Ass is so underrated. He was perfectly cast, and made the first movie good as much as Moretz or Vaughn.

did not know that! In all honesty I had my fingers crossed that somehow someway he'd be back. I realize he's dead as shit but I would absolutely LOVE if he had a few scenes with flashbacks or something--he was absolutely HILARIOUS in that flick, so entertaining!

In the comics only a short time separate the 2 chapters, so aren't they a bit OLD to play early teenagers ? Moretz looks almost 20 now and Johnson has become some kind of underwear model hunk lately...

Cage is coming back in a cameo??? How! didn't he get fried LMFAO. UNless its a flashback scene. KICK-ASS is an amazing film I remember seeing the sneak peek of it and getting a HIT-GIRL shit :)

This is all good news. Loved the first one. Balls to the Wall is a good title but I'm pretty sure it won't translate well in many non-english countries so my guess they'll just ditch this and just call it "Kick Ass 2" in South America. Just pointing out...good thing the original cast is returning, without them = no dice. Bring it on.

not sure why you're getting negative votes, haven't read it being publicly confirmed anywhere until now and it does seem sort of like one of those cameos that are meant to be a bit of a surprise, so it is a bit of a spoiler. Still regardless, I'm stoked that he'll be back even if it won't be a surprise!

Was I the only one...

I really hated Aaron Johnson in this, his character was a whiny brat and the whole movie was average. Everyone agree's Hit Girl was the only redeeming point of this movie. Without her this movie would have sucked.

A "Power Rangers" movie reboot would've be money well spent over this trifflin' crap. Even the first one wasn't that good to begin with.
