We have a picture of the poster for THE WRESTLER, one of the best reviewed films of the year. Darren Aronofsky directs the story of a retired professional wrestler Randy "The Ram" Robinson (Mickey Rourke) as he makes his way through the independent circuit, trying to get back in the game for one final showdown with his former rival. Marisa Tomei plays a stripper, I play a dude in the audience about to be arrested for indecent exposure.

Oh man.. and Nic Cage could have actually redeemed himself from that heaping pile of horse shit that is "National Treasure 1,2, Next, Ghost Rider, Bangcok dangerous, the wicker man" wow..



Nic Cage really did that many shitty movies in the past 3 years? Wow.. I just went and got myself depressed.

Slick poster - doesn't look like all the others
This is a good looking poster - has a more classic feel to it than a lot of the carbon copy posters of late. I'm glad Cage wasn't cast, just because he feels overexposed, and Rourke needs more of the types of roles Cage gets.



I only hope with this movie that Aronofsky hasn't changed up Barton Fink's script too much. The original The Wrestler will always be a B-classic that rose...

I really hope Sean Penn doesn't get the Oscar. I personally can't f*cking stand Sean Penn. Every role the guy takes he cries, EVERY SINGLE ROLE. Honestly, do you really have to cry that much? Is that what it takes to win an Oscar?

I'm just excited as every other person for this movie but for christ sake where is a trailer!!! I cannot wait to see this, even though it probably won't play in WEST VIRGINIA but still, i pray it does. And please someone tell me theres a trailer out there somewhere, it'd make my day

I'm really excited to see this movie. I hope Mickey scores an Oscar for this (fuck Sean Penn!!) because from everything I've read about it, he really gave it his all for this part. Aronofsky is one of my favorite filmmakers and love all of his flicks.



You also have to give the man props, from the interviews I've seen and read, he really laid down the law with Rourke on this...

I maintain my theory that Nic Cage is an actor of mathematic odds, like the fact that out of every 5 Cage movies, 1 will be really good. So for every WeatherMan you'd have to suffer through Bangkok Dangerous, The Wicker Man, Ghost Rider, and Next. This could have been his lucky 1 in 5 chance. Its fact, look at...

Can't Wait
Can not wait for this movie to come out. I love all of Darren's movies. He keeps getting better and better. Im really glad he didn't get nic cage. Nic Cage has the potential to be good when he wants to, but this is the part that Rourke was born to play. The man deserves it too

Nic Cage not original star
Mickey Rourke was always supposed to be the star. Nic Cage only signed on after Darren couldn't get the financing with Mickey as star. Darren got other financing, and was therefore able to use Mickey. This was in last weeks Entertainment Weekly.

By the way. Saw the film at AFI and it was great. The Mick's going to have a hard time up against Sean Penn in "Milk," but damn if he doesn't kick ass in this film.
