"X-Files" alum directs
Frank Spotnitz, one of the creative minds behind "The X-Files" (before it went into the crapper), has signed a deal with Dimension Films to write, direct and produce two feature films. The first film in the deal is a thriller entitled INTO THE ETHER. That film follows a RN who becomes suspicious as her hospital patients begin dying of unnatural causes. The only other previous work Spotnitz had on films was co-writing the script (along with series creator Chris Carter) for the X-FILES film. No word on whether he will word on the planned X-FILES sequel with David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson signed to reprise their roles as Mulder and Scully. Pardon me one second while I rant..."The X-Files" used to be such a great show. What the hell happened? I never felt like I got even the slightest sense of closure. Talk about jumping the shark.
