X-Men: Apocalypse casts Cyclops, Jean Grey and Storm!

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE has added Tye Sheridan (TREE OF LIFE), Sophie Turner (GAME OF THRONES) and Alexandra Shipp to its cast, director Bryan Singer announced tonight on Twitter. Sheridan will play a younger version of Scott Summers, aka Cyclops, Turner will play Jean Grey, and Shipp will play weather guru Storm. It was almost two weeks ago we shared with you the list of young stars looking for the roles and I have to say, I'm happy with these choices.

Sheridan is going to be a force in Hollywood someday if he keeps his track record going (watch JOE as soon as possible). Turner is always a pleasure to watch on TV and a transition into film couldn't come at a better time. I can't say I've seen Shipp in anything, but poor casting decision is not something I'd relate to any of these X-MEN movies so far.

We already know that Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy will all return to their roles as Mystique, Magneto and Professor X, while Oscar Isaac will play the film’s titular villain. Earlier today we shared with your Isaac’s views on his armor for the movie.

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE takes over the world on May 27, 2016.
