Zack Snyder shares a look at Batman's tactical suit for Justice League

09.14.2016

Zack Snyder Justice League Ben Affleck Batman

It seems like Bruce Wayne has a Bat-suit for every season, and while the modern cinematic incarnations of Batman haven't exploited this to the degree the original movies did, we've still received several alternate Bat-suits throughout Christopher Nolan's DARK KNIGHT trilogy and Zack Snyder's BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE. With production on JUSTICE LEAGUE finally entering the homestretch, Snyder has shared a new photo via Twitter to commemorate the final day of filming Batman (Ben Affleck) in his new tactical Bat-suit. Snazzy!

Not a huge departure from his BATMAN V SUPERMAN suit but everything seems to line up with what we saw on the set of JUSTICE LEAGUE earlier this year. The additional armour gives it a bit of a DARK KNIGHT vibe (with some Nite Owl thrown in) while still keeping the size of Affleck's BVS suit, the flight goggles are also a nice touch. I'm sure we'll get a better look at the suit in the months to come, but what do you folks think of Batman's new duds?

JUSTICE LEAGUE is set for a November 17, 2017 release.

Looks dumb

Sorry but it looks kind of silly. Like something a satire of the character would wear. BvS looked fine but this looks too point and angular.

Batman's suit never looked better than in BvS. But that movie not only sucked, it made Batman & Superman into unlikable one-note characters. Two characters that I ordinarily love, yet Snyder's films twisted them into emo douches that were painful to watch. And that little trailer for Justice League not only made Batman seem more unlikable, but Affleck was back to sleepwalking as the same smarmy smug doof that he played in everything back in the 90s/00s.

CALM DOWN MARVEL BOYS

I'm sure he will only be wearing these glasses for 1 maybe 3 minutes. One complaint is that they are releasing too many things too early. There has been one "Comic Con" trailer and a couple of BTS pictures and this. Wow I practically know the ending of the movie now. Freaking idiots.

The glasses aren't that bad IMO. But you can't deny they are already releasing too much. At this pace they'll do more spoiling than they did for BvS. They've released a 4 minute trailer 16 months in advance and have welcomed these full set visits (for sites like JoBlo) where they allow plenty of pictures of sets and costumes to be posted. I think there are a lot more fans of "teaser marketing" out there that DC doesn't realize. A little tease goes a long way. That's all.

I'd be very happy with a suit like that. Anyone complaining is just jealous.

"His goggles look like Nite-Owl"

This is the stupidest fucking nerd argument I do believe I've ever witnessed in my life.

MAYBE ...

... it's the same thing as with Blair Witch - you go to the cinema thinking you'll see Justice League, when suddenly the title says WATCHMEN 2! My bets are Cavill is playing Dr. Manhattan :D

Looks badass. And I don't mind the similarities between this suit and the clear inspiration from Nite Owl since he was a character from another Snyder helmed film.

I swear people find the littlest aspect to criticize DC on with every new photo, film, casting choice, etc that they release. It would make sense that Batman would babe different suits for different and certain situations that he finds himself in.

Are people seriously comparing Batman to Nite Owl when Nite Owl was very clearly a homage to Batman?

Marloweman, you are spot on. Alan Moore specificaly modeled the Watchmen off of classic Charlton comics characters that DC had (at the time) recently acquired. Rorschach was modeled after The Question, The Comedian after The Shield, etc. and yes, Nite-Owl was modeled after the Blue Beetle. So no, Jeckie, he actually wasn't intended as a Batman homage at all.

Looks like Christopher Nolan's bat suit with stupid glasses. My hope for this cinematic universe is fading drastically.

Looks fine

I only care about the plot. That said, this suit makes his head look like Clooney's Batman to me, for some reason.

Zack Snyder is genius

I totally love the idea of showing the different suits Batman must have in his closet. Historically, Bruce has had a suit for every occasion, which is proof of his superior intellect and sense of anticipation. The mask definitely resembles that of Nite Owl, but hey, we're talking about another iconic character and iteration. Way to go WB!

Seriously hope Marvel doesn't show us this much 14 months before the release of Infinity War. Sorry but DC/Snyder keeps showing everything off whether it be costumes or vehicles or actors in character, long before they need to reveal anything. There's a difference between teasing and giving it away, and they don't know the difference. Downvote me all you want - I'm annoyed and I know I'm not the only one.

I'm upset with what DC and WB have done. I truly am. So I'm with you there. Just be smart about what you are targeting.

We've seen Stark's armor months in advance. We've seen Cap while filming. Hell, don't get me started on how soon we seen Spidey's before Civil War. Marvel does the same, just not as openly. In Marvel I trust, irregardless.

Spider-Man wasn't visually revealed until the trailer which was released on March 10, 2016. This was less than 2 months before the release date and significantly different than what we have here.
