I really loved ZODIAC. I thought it was a little long, but still a tremendous film. The DVD hits shelves on 24th July, but you might want to let that date pass you by (not only because that version is to be a vanilla release, in that there are hardly any features attached), because apparently Fincher's 2-disc Director's Cut will hit in 2008. Slashfilm reports that this edition will contain:

...special features missing from the single disc version, including an audio commentary by David Fincher, actors Jake Gyllenhaal and Robert Downey, Jr., screenwriter James Vanderbilt, producer Brad Fischer and crime novelist James Ellroy, extensive behind-the-scenes featurettes detailing the production from start to finish, and an in-depth look at the actual Zodiac crimes, including all-new interviews with the original investigators and survivors

I'd love to say I'll be waiting for that beast, but I'm that guy who has to own every single DVD edition of all the movies he likes. I think I have like 5 different FIGHT CLUBS. Still, those of you with slightly better discipline: now you know!

Extra Tidbit: The film was sent to cinemas under the fake name 'GEMINI'.

Robert Downey Jr. Still totally under-rated!
I thought Zodiac was ok. But every time RDJ showed up made it that much better. Ever since his Oscar nominated performance in "Chaplin," I have been a huge fan. If it weren't for the drug problems he would be as big as Tom Hanks. Believe it or not the film that official sold me was the great (not many people have seen or heard of flick) called "Heart and Souls!" It makes me cry like a baby...

If it weren't for the drug problems he would be as big as Tom Hanks. Believe it or not the film that official sold me was the great (not many people have seen or heard of flick) called "Heart and Souls!" It makes me cry like a baby and has a terrific story and cast! I mean it starred RDJ, Kyra Sedgwick (Kevin Bacons wife), Charles Grodin, Alfre Woodard, Elizabeth Shue, Tom Sizemore, and the always where have I seen that guy before David Paymer. I recommend that flick to all guys that want their lady to snuggle just a little closer to you. Anyway good news about the DVD and RDJ. Who can forget his hilarious voiceover work as Lois' fat guy hating/killing brother on "Family Guy?" Here's hoping "Iron Man" is huge (and good of course) so that RDJ will be the star he deserves to be! Who's with me on that? If he stays away from the drugs I don't see any reason why he won't be a huge box office and consistently dependent movie star! My main problem with "Zodiac" was I didn't buy him as the family man, and It had some major pacing issues.

I don't know what's more scary: The actual Zodiac killer or that someone owns 5 different versions of Fight Club.

RDJ is a hilarious dude. I'm really looking forward to that commentary track.
