I have debated with people over and over about this chick. She's one of those who seem to come off as either you love her or you hate her and I can't help myself, but my review of this week's Hot or Not selection is going to be heavily weighing on the positive. How you all will respond, I wait with baited breath to find out.

Hilary Swank

I know I'm dating myself here, but I noticed Swank right away in her early role in the BUFFY THE VAMPIRE movie. She was a bitch but she was funny when she died. EDIT: Duh... she doesn't die, she gets knocked out and gives the Miss America speech during the credits. I just remember her looking like a girl in high school that I WISHED would have died. And I like it when the bitches get killed in the end. But after that, I don't recall THE NEW KARATE KID or anything else other than her brief stint on the original 90210, which, dating myself again... I liked her on.

Then seemingly out of the blue (also known as the year called 1999), Swank came out swinging as an actress in an incredibly rough and tender performance as a real life girl who believed she was born in the wrong body. After the movie came out, Swank dedicated herself to showing off the fact that she really wasn't a boy, many times wearing no bra under an outfit that was sure to be see-through under the pap's cameras. Bravo.

Banking on playing tough characters won her a second Oscar (yes, I know you hated it Mark, but the fact is she won) for MILLION DOLLAR BABY. Now, with the upcoming biopic AMELIA, she could be looking to start her own little Meryl Streep set of nominations. And her acting is deserved of it. And personally? I think she's a f*cking babe.

Yet, Hot or Not isn't about what I think. Tell me your thoughts on Swank.

I dont know. She can be hot at times thats for sure, but I guess it depends of the part she is playing, which proves she is a good actress, cause hot, like sexy, is also about the attitude.

I'm a big fan of French movies, Amelie is one of my favorite films. I even recognize your profile pic and screen name because I really liked The 400 Blows and think Truffaut is a great director. So, I'll have to respectfully disagree with you that Cotillard deserved that oscar.

I don't really find her attractive or like her acting most of the time. As you mentioned, I thought her academy award for Million Dollar Baby was completely undeserved since she was up against Catalina Sandino Moreno...
I don't really find her attractive or like her acting most of the time. As you mentioned, I thought her academy award for Million Dollar Baby was completely undeserved since she was up against Catalina Sandino Moreno for Maria Full of Grace (in my opinion, one of the best performances of all time). But, the Independent Spirit Awards gave Catalina the best actress award which is one reason why I like that awards show better.

The Academy has a history of turning me off from actresses I normally wouldn't hate, actresses I would just be on the fence with. Two other examples are Charlize Theron winning over Naomi Watts and Marion Cotillard winning over Ellen Page.

And not only did Swank, Theron, and Cotillard not deserve their awards in my opinion since their performances were far inferior but they insulted me further by giving bug eyed overacted performances. As I've mentioned in the past it annoys me when BUG EYED acting gets praised.

I enjoy the rare opportunity to be negative on here.

There is NOTHING about this woman I find even remotely attractive. If I had a list of celebrities I found ugly she wouldn't even be in it. She falls below that. She's just gross, for lack of a better word. Sorry guys :(

You picked some pretty good pics for the yes answer, but I've never really seen her in anything that made me say 'Damn'. But just because I don't think she's hot doesn't mean I'm not 100% sure she's going to get...

I first noticed her in the "Karate Kid" sequel especially when Myagi walked into her room while she was changing. A little (clothed) side boob and I was in love. Very good actress...Great body!
