There's something about this week's Hot or Not selection which comes back to me again and again. It's the fact that I know who she is and I know it because she's actually been cute and funny enough to be memorable a handful of times. But outside of those bright shining moments, she doesn't stick around in my brain for very much longer. So, I've decided that this must be analyzed by the Schmoes.

Amanda Peet

I do not remember Amanda Peet from any of her television shows, including the critically lauded "Jack & Jill" (back during the WB days) or even in the movies that I watched which she was in and liked. For example, I really like the movie SOUTHIE, mainly because I prefer Donnie as the Wahlberg brother for go-to acting, but damned if I can remember her in that movie. Or anything else before she exploded with the topless scene in THE WHOLE NINE YARDS.

Sure, she went on to have SAVING SILVERMAN cement the fact that she can be a spot-on funny woman in films, but she gets lost amongst bigger stars in movies like IDENTITY and SOMETHING'S GOT TO GIVE. She's the actress who you know by name when you see her and when you hear her, but unless she's given something extremely meaty to do or say, she's Wonder Bread for the screen.

This is a big however in the personality department for me though... Peet took a lot of shit for being outspoken over a comment about how those people who refuse to let their kids get vaccinations. In a celebrity world where most are jumping on the anti-everything wagon, Peet was one of the few to speak up and voice her concerns that went against the grain. Because of that, I might even overlook the fact that she's in the disaster-porn release 2012. She's Hollywood and yet she's not and somewhere in the middle, that's pretty damn f*cking cool in my book.

But is Amanda Peet a hottie? That's the more pressing question. You tell me.

I agree with Cherry's assessment: Amanda Peet thinks people like Jenny McCarthy are nuts for thinking that infant vaccinations are the cause of autism, and other diseases.

In which case, I give AP extra marks for using her brains.

She believes in getting the vaccinations when most celebs are saying they're bad. I think that's pretty cool. Perhaps you misread this or I'm misunderstanding your comment?
