Brad Pitt in Batman 5?

September 1, 2000

Source: Dark Horizons

A recent meeting with director Darren Aronofsky (PI, REQUIEM FOR A DREAM) has led to rumors of Brad Pitt joining Darren for one of his next projects, which are believed to be either BATMAN 5 or a biopic of TV's "The Gong Show" creator Chuck Barris. Of course, Brad has also been rumored to be doing the next Coen brothers film entitled TO THE WHITE SEA, so I guess only time will tell what he will ultimately choose. Aronofsky was quoted as saying, "I'd want to bring an independent guerrilla flavor to Batman".

Source: Aint-It-Cool-News

According to Harry Knowles from AICN, a man who has been at the Quentin Tarantino Film Festival all week long, Quentin has decided to make one other movie before his much-rumored World War II flick. The film in question is tentatively called KILL BILL and will likely star Uma Thurman as a woman "on the path for serious revenge". Of course, these are all little tidbits that Harry himself was also able to scrape together, and nothing is actually confirmed, so keep your eyes and ears peeled for more news on this soon. Word on the street is that QT will be making an official announcement about his next film in the fall.

When asked about the Eminem casting rumors, Fuqua denied ever having met the man, but did say that they were thinking about using him in one of the smaller "undercover cop" roles (not the villain). Entire interview with director Antoine Fuqua will be posted on JoBlo's Movie Emporium next week.

Matrix sequels look good to Carrie

September 1, 2000

Source: IGN Filmforce

Actress Carrie Anne Moss aka Trinity was apparently "blown away" by the script to the Matrix sequel most recently, as she got her first opportunity to read it. Moss also admitted that she didn't "completely get" the first script when she originally read it. "This one I got right away. Of course, I have to go back and get all the little things. But I'm in no hurry to read it again. I want to let it simmer for a little while, which is my process. I know how to save it a little bit. To let it happen."

Along Came A...new ending

September 1, 2000

Source: MyMovies.net

The follow-up to 1997's KISS THE GIRLS, entitled ALONG CAME A SPIDER, starring Morgan Freeman in a reprisal of his role as detective Alex Cross has run into a problem: nobody likes the ending, especially not Morgan Freeman, who also happens to be the co-producer on the project. "Nobody likes the ending-- especially me...I warned everyone that no one would like this ending. It just doesn't work.", said Freeman. An alternate ending for the picture will be shot shortly, but the delay has ensured that the movie will now not reach cinemas until some time next year.
