| The
return of Jar-Jar? |
October 13, 2000 |
| Source:
Aint-it-Cool-News
Apparently George Lucas is listening!
Despite everybody and their uncle having a varied opinion of THE
PHANTOM MENACE, it was clear to all that one character named Jar-Jar
Binks...well, sucked! The good news is that George Lucas has
apparently taken some of that criticism to heart and lessened
Jar-Jar's part in EPISODE II, and even made him "more serious and
wizened in the years that have gone by". Phew! A collective sigh
of relief for all Star Wars fans, I am sure.

| Leo
partying too hard? |

IMDb
So maybe Leo DiCaprio isn't the
"king of the world"! Leo,
who is currently filming THE GANGS OF NEW YORK in Italy under the
watchful eye of director Martin Scorsese, apparently showed up 10
minutes late after his previous night's early hour bar-hopping foray
with girlfriend Gisele in Rome, and was scolded by the director in
front of the cast and crew. Leo, always the gentleman, apparently
apologized to one and all for his tardiness. The film also stars
Cameron Diaz and Daniel Day-Lewis.

So you loved THE CELL? You enjoyed
REM's "Losing my Religion" video directed by the same man?
Tarsem (Singh). Well, here are a couple of TV spots that the
imaginative fellow directed a while back. The first is for Perrier and
the second, Coca-Cola. Very CELL-like and "bizarre", to say
the least. Thanks again to Bear aka Lours. Have a blast!

Witch 2 blows? |

Okay, so here's the first
"official" unofficial review of the follow-up to the
mega-successful BLAIR WITH PROJECT, entitled BLAIR WITCH 2: BOOK OF
SHADOWS. Some of the reviewer's quotes include "BLAIR WITCH 2 is
the worst sequel since EXORCIST II: THE HERETIC, and makes about as
much sense" and "This movie pretty much ties BATTLEFIELD:
EARTH for Worst Movie of 2000". Needless to say, this person
REALLY didn't care for this film. The entire review is below and it
includes minor spoilers.

| Meet
the Parents 2: Let's make more money! :) |
October 10, 2000 |
| Source:
Variety
What's the first thing that a studio
does after their film receives the biggest October box-office opening
ever? Natch, they toss $1.1 million the way of the screenwriter of the
original, Jim Herzfeld, and get him to write up a sequel...pronto!
Herzfeld, who shared screenwriting credit with John Hamburg on MEET
THE PARENTS (Jim Taylor and Alexander Payne did an uncredited
rewrite), will begin writing immediately, hatching a second
installment under the supervision of director Jay Roach. Roach, DeNiro
and Stiller are expected to return for the sequel, although no deals
have been signed with any of the principals yet. Roach is also
developing a third AUSTIN POWERS movie with Mike Myers.
