Based on a collection of short stories of the same name by Larry Brown, this drama interlaces the tales of Leon Barlow (Arliss Howard), an alcoholic Vietnam War veteran, and his ex-wife, Marilyn (Debra Winger). Leon spends his time trying to become a successful writer and dealing with Marilyn’s refusal to let him visit their two children, one of whom has an incurable illness.
