Roth is awesome. don't you guys remember the early ninties when awesome crime saga directors were materializing seemingly from nowhere? Tarrantino, McQuarrie, Fincher, Nolan? Eli, Zombie, Snyder, Boyle and those dudes are this decades horror version. Debate me, bitches, I dare you. - I'll debate this. Snyder has only made one horror film and it was a remake, using Danny Boyle's running Zombies, and Boyle himself only made one. As far as Roth goes, he's good for the genre. He adds a dark, strange sense of humor to his gore filled sadistic movies. Can't wait for his interpretation of King's cell. But Zombie on the other hand should not even have his name on this list. He is just terrible as a filmmaker. That whole throwback horror thing he does? It's not working (except in GRINDHOUSE, where he only made a trailer). I guess that wasn't so much a debate as it was a correction - Danny Boyle and Zack Snyder are not horror genre dirctors. |

This movie is looking more and more like the typical mistake of taking a decent movie and killing it by making a second movie when they should have stopped with the first. |

ugh, every new "news" that comes out about this is even more shit than the news it was being made...Roth is a moron and a bad director, i doubt that'll ever change |

I didn't like the first part. It was really bad. Gore doesn't mean horror. |

I think this film will probably be the end of the whole sadomasochistic trend in horror. Hopefully. It's become tiresome and a cliche, each one trying to out do the previous film. Which I guess would be fine, given there was something else to be derived from the experience; ie ZODIAC. But Roth and Zombie wallow in cheaply made shit that is targeted to the unintelligent masses, which frankly is the most disturbing trend of all to come out of this period in film. I read a quote from Roth recently comparing his films and the like to the classic Universal Monster films of the '30s; which is absurd. True, those did play upon the publics psychological fears of the day. But these other films prey upon people; that is one of many subtle differences. they do nothing but create fear and cater to deranged sense of voyerism. |

Eli Roth is good times! I don't understand all the haters of this guy. Cabin Fever? Fun times! Hostel? Good stuff! Hostel 2? I expect good things. Hostel and Saw are the standard when it comes to modern horror franchises. |

MEH. EXACTLY.
i wasnt a fan of the first one at all, this one seems like a tired rehash except with chicks. the only thing eli roth ever did where i didnt want to punch him was the thanksgiving trailer on Grindhouse, which i'll admit was amazing.
that being said, this poster is lame. |
