That's right, two exclamation marks. This time I'm back with not only a new IRON MAN clip, but a side order of enthusiasm too. The latest bunch of tv-spots have been largely old material and thus kind of underwhelming. But the clip BELOW is really, really great. We get a look at what appears to be Tony Stark's first test of his ability to fly, and while it ain't that climactic scene from the trailer where he gives Iron Monger the TROY-punch, it is still sick. Robert Downey Jr. is hilarious, and this film just looks better and better.
I've got IRON MAN at #5 on my picks for the JoBlo.com office Summer Box Office Prediction contest, but just typing that out it sounds ridiculous. In a perfect world, based on the trailer alone, this film would make a bazillion dollars. And Favreau would win an Oscar for Most Awesome Human Being Ever. And he'd throw it in the Academy's face and shout "power to the people". And we wouldn't understand why he did that, but Mary Elizabeth Winstead and I would stop making out and applaud him anyway.
Extra Tidbit:Yeah, I have it behind INDY, TROPIC THUNDER, HANCOCK and THE DARK KNIGHT. I'm terrible at these things. Although in my predictions Downey Jr. is making serious bank this year.

Nolan didnt care about anything that had been done or what the culture in 2005 demanded. He gave us BATMAN and no dated stuff to it where as Ironman by the clips and trailer too much "cool" heavymetal ftuff which will date the movies in a few years to come. Hopefully not

Yeah I do remember Elf and Made, both great movies. How can you NOT like Elf? The concept was original and it had a great message and good christmas spirit. Also, Made is a completely underrated movie. Jon Favreu is a great director and writer. He already has proven he can write and Iron man will prove he can direct if you still don't believe so. Justinpdrew I agree that Hulk isnt as cool as Iron Man but I don't agree with all your Hulk bashing (yes, pun intended). The Hulk story line may be generic (science experiment gone bad yada yada yada) but The Hulk character is actually very interesting when around the other characters, ie the Avengers. He is a very important piece to the Avengers many storylines and it is necessary to introduce him seperately before making an avengers movie.

And, as far as I'm concerned, Iron Man > Hulk. 110%.
The Hulk has never caught my interest because it's totally absurd but it takes itself way too seriously. He's a guy that gets angry and turns giant and green but somehow his pants don't rip. He's basically a giant green toddler on a temper tantrum. And his only catchphrase ever seems to be "Hulk smash!"
The concept and character are completely lame and for Hulk to ever work for me it would have to be one of those cheesy wink-wink type deals where the movie says "Yeah, we know this is all batshit crazy, but just play along, it's gonna be a ride."
But thus far every Hulk movie, including this summer's, seems to take itself uber-seriously.
Iron Man, for me, is sold on the Tony Stark character. I've genuinely laughed at the one-liners and the little jokes I've heard in the previews. That personality is selling the movie for me.

Im just not getting into the ironman hype just yet I want to go with low expectations because maybe it will blow my mind. Robert Downey is one of my fav actors, but Jon Favreu is not an amazing, elite director. Anybody remeber Elf and Made.

And for the record, I don't care what anybody says. While Ghost Rider wasn't very good, Mark Steven Johnson is a fine director. Daredevil was great and he also did a good job with 1998's Simon Birch. So whatever.
