I really wish they wouldn't remake Argento films, Suspiria in particular. Oh well, these are the times we live in. Every fucking film and TV show must be remade.
I have to say--first "V For Vendetta", now this, Portman seems to have good taste, and a sort of twisted sensibility when it comes to picking her roles. |

Suspiria is one of my favorite movies! All the recent remakes are trashy...I dunno how I feel about this...if it's good then I'm happy for it. But does the movie really NEED a remake? It's still SO good. Just Re-Release it! Also, not to be mean but Portman is pushing 30. . . how old were the students supposed to be like 21? It's hard to tell. Well, she looks young anyway! |

What makes it unique and memorable is the direction, and Argento's style cannot and should not be copied - and with a director like David Gordon Green, I'd want something as original as his previous films. I wish they'd just make a ton of theaters to play classic films, rather than remake them. Wouldn't it be awesome if, instead of this, every Cineplex just dedicated one screen to a 35mm print of Argento's Suspiria? THAT would be amazing. |
