Keira Knightley was born into the wrong period of time, she's always comfortable in these kinds of films. |

ROUNDERS, BEST MOVIE EVER?
That's like saying "The Legend of Bagger Vance, best movie ever." There are so many movies that have been made about gambling (or sports) and have been made better. I'm sorry Mr. Blo, I'm not in agreement with you and I demand that you claim Dawn of the Dead is the best movie ever. Original or remake.
And as for Keira, more power to her and her period.
Roles! Period roles! My wife made me watch Pride & Prejudice and it was quite good. As was she. |

While all these period pieces look the same from the trailers and posters, she's actually still showing quite a bit of versatility in her performances. I mean Elizabeth Swann, Elizabeth Bennet and Eliza Dolittle may have similar names but they're pretty diverse roles.
Personally I think, its not so much that she onlt wants to do period pieces, as she only wants to do films that offer challenging roles that will be appreicated by critics (rather than say generic romcoms which she probably sees as a waster of her time). I mean when most actresses her age (she's only 23) are still doing CW fare can you really blame her for taking roles in King Lear and My Fair Lady? I'm sure that eventually she'll get offered a contemporary role that feels is worth her time, but for now I think she's playing it pretty smart if she wants to be taken seriously and still have a career in ten years. |

I can't honestly see Knightly ever doing a modern flick again. |

The problem is that Keira is now big enough to pick her roles, and apparently she only has interest in period pieces. I liked it better when she had to take what she could get and she picked movies like The Jacket and Love Actually. |
