Ramis talks more GB3

Since it was officially announced (as a mere possibility), there's been a ton of speculation about GHOSTBUSTERS 3. Will the original cast return? Should they or shouldn't they? What will the story be?

Harold Ramis recently discussed the third movie's potential with Making Of, questioning the wisdom of prolonging a franchise for profitability over creativity (he thought SPIDER-MAN 3 felt "manufactured" and describes INDY 4 as "a disaster") and stating that the spook-hunting founders would return for the characters and not strictly for the cake.

Ramis also talks about the difference between the painstaking practical/optical FX and animation of the first GHOSTBUSTERS and the "comic book blend" of today's digital visual trickery, and mentions that there is a "group will" to make another but everyone is waiting to see the first draft (which is still a few months away) from "THE OFFICE" (US) guys Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky before coming to any decisions.

Sorry, Ramis talking shit about Indy 4 - did he even see his own Year One? Indy may have been flawed, but Year One was utter shit! I could have made a better film using a cell phone camera and some drug addicts.

Right on..
Ghostbusters is my favourite film EVER, and the last thing I want is for a crap sequal to come along and ruin it like so many other franchises. So to hear Ramis say this is pretty relaxing, I would like to see another ghostbusters movie IF it was as good as the first two, but 20 years on I'm a bit sceptical that that can happen. Like he says here the way they make films have totally changed so ...

Plus they are all fat and old, but I guess they might be able to get some jokes from that if done right. Also I can't play the game because I live in England and have an X-box 360. Damn Sony.

well.....
He was promoting year one on the radio and the dj asked him about GB3. He said "No one wants to do it but Aykroyd." So I dont know why everyone is pushing so hard for it. I am a GB fan and glad we finaly got a good game out of it. But if they dont want to put any heart in it I say dont do it.

I have mixed feelings, on one hand I want to see the Ghostbusters on screen again, but after Indy 4, I have reservations on what this could be.

Until I was about eight years old, Ghostbusters and Ninja Turtles were pretty were pretty much my life, so there are very few films I'd like to see a sequels to. I really hope this all works out, and I really hope it's worth the wait.

GB2 was a disaster. i hated every minute of it. if done right, GB3 could be pretty good. here's hopin'. PS, i liked indy 4...it didn't suck too bad.

After listening to Ramis talk, I got a whole new respect for him. I think that if they do move forward with a GB3, it means that it should be (SHOULD BE) something that is up to par with the first one. I really don't think that they could do anything to match the first one...but yeah, I'm excited!!! Let's get er done!

We came, we saw, we kicked it's @ss!!

I grew up on the Ghostbusters and even though I always remembered GB2 as somewhat of a flop, I rewatched it after I got the new game, and it was still SO funny. Not as good as GB1 of course, but still great. Can't wait for GB3
