NOT RATNER
i rekon the movie should be put on hold until someone capable is availible.
id love to see what tarintino would do with it.. i would trust him. i wouldnt trust ratner with an episode of spongebob though.
djimon hounsou could pull it off, but there would need to be some solid make-up to create the 'ashes' effects without making him look stupid. |

DJIMON HOUNSOU!
Djimon Hounsou would be perfect for the role. I can't think of anyone else. IF Kevin Garnett could act, I would have no problem with him as Kratos.
As far as director goes:
Ratner? Hell no.
Snyder? Yes.
Peter Jackson? sure.
Stanley Kubrick? I wish. |

GRAIL
your right grail, i tried picturing butler n hounsou would be better to me due to his intense voice and also because butler i dont think can pull off bald that well, i just think it would be interesting to see if hounsou was to be cast which would be a good choice, it would be interesting to see what he looks like white, like downey jr. being black in tropic thunder haha |

While I think Butler could pull it off, I would definitely want the voice. Kratos is a warrior of action, not words. He needs to be imposing as all hell. Plus, the skin color doesn't really matter. His skin is supposed to be unnaturally white (hence the nickname Ghost of Sparta), so any actor playing the part would have to be, well, artificially colored. If you've played the games you know why this is a necessity for the character, I won't give it away for those who haven't. |

GO-T VS. VOICE
Ratner not the one for a film adaptation of arguably the most epic game series ever made, Zack Snyder on the other hand has proven himself with 300 and his filming style is closely related to the style of GOW, but as who is in it, Djimon Hounsou would be really good due to his similar voice and intenseness of Kratos, but on the other hand he's one of the darkest actors in hollywood, Kratos is just tan, Gerard Butler would be my choice as he can have the epic greek look we've all seen in 300 and the exact same go-t as Kratos, so tell me your opinion? would you rather have go-t or voice? |

RAT SUCKS
Brett Ratner is an awful director. Almost as bad as Uwe Boll. He killed the xmen movie and will do the same to this promising franchise. Please don't put his sorry ass on this film. Also Jason Statham with a tan would make a good Kratos. |

Uwe Bol was never attached to direct GOW. A mutual friend introduced him to GOW's creator, David Jaffe. After a brief meeting with Bol, Jaffe made it explicitly clear that he would never be allowed anywhere near the franchise. Everyone seemed to want to jump the conclusion that because they had talked, Bol would be directing it, in reality he was never even remotely attached to the project.
Ratner isn't a horrible director, his problem with X3 was that he made the film as a drooling fanboy instead of a filmmaker. As a result, it ended up being a shitty collection of walk on cameos instead of a real film. I think it likely that he would probably make the same mistake here.
Who do I want directing this? Let's see, Zack Snyder is about the only director I can think of who has shown a similar visual aesthetic to the games, but I would willingly take anyone who can prove that they can balance over-the-top, brutal action with a gripping storyline.
And Djimon Honsou is the only Kratos my brain will ever accept. I don't care if he isn't Greek. |

KEVIN GARNETT FOR KRATOS
Not digging Ratner directing God of War. But I would be digging it if they cast big KG as Kratos. After he finishes winning the NBA championship, of course. |

First, dont DARE put Ratner or McG in the same league as Boll. Ratner did a great job with Red Dragon and McG did great with We are Marshall AND produces the amazing "Supernatural". On Top of that, Who here, on these message boards makes movies in Hollywood?? Anyone? No? Thats what I thought. Until one of YOU make a movie that plays at our locals theaters, NO ONE here has ANY room to talk... |

PLEASE JESUS
let this not be true. he's not aloud to be within the same solar system as that game. if he so much utters the name Kratos in an interview, the world should cease to exist. Ratner should stick to Rush Hour and leave the things people love alone. |
