Resident Evil trailer Jul. 17, 2008
Source: Sony Pictures
by: Mike Sampson

Animated zombies? I've gotta see that. While a new live-action RESIDENT EVIL movie might be a bit much for me, the prospect of seeing some CGI-rendered zombies running around and biting CGI-rendered humans who look like zombies is something I've got to check out. That's RESIDENT EVIL: DEGENERATION, the upcoming direct-to-DVD thriller based on the video games. Apparently in this new movie, seven years after the last "incident" a zombie wanders into an airport and wreaks havoc in ways only a zombie can. Flesh consumption ensues. RE:DEG (that's my fancy way of shortening the title) will make an appearance at Comic-Con on Friday where they'll show off the new trailer OR you can just check out the trailer for the film below! It's like a Comic-Con right at your desk!

The point is that this movie can give a legitimate "Resident Evil" experience to non-gamers. Those who haven't played the games probably think they are like the Jovovich/Anderson movies, when that couldn't be further from the truth. Im all for it.

OK..
This looks pretty good but im done with those live ones. I do like them but I try to block out milla out so much in those movies. She's horrible, if she wasn't in those movies or her character, the movies would have been way better!

Milla + Resident evil= Crap
No milla= good

But for RE:5 yes!!!

this is an old trailer , so i was sort of surprised that it's being made to seem like this is news , i already saw this one , so i was expecting something different .

it doesn't matter , this looks great and it's an effective way to placate the fans who felt the live action incarnations were lacking .

it's obvious capcom doesn't have a tin ear and they realized a good number of fans were disappointed with what Anderson has done with the franchise ( i have no problem with them ) , so this was a way to set things right without taking on a full blown production .

we haven't even seen the whole movie yet , so maybe the mansion is in this at some point . even if it's not , if this is succesful like i think it will be , there is nothing stopping them from making more of these , even a full length version dealing specifically with the events in the first game .

i'm just glad they have made something like this , it's a good sign of what we may get in the future . that one minute has me excited , can't imagine what the entire film will be like .

FUCK THIS.
I'm so done with this whole film series. After playing the first game religiously since childhood, I was very very disappointed to sit down in the theater and watch one of the scariest games I'd ever played become some sexy techno thriller starring none other than resident retard Milla Jovodownsyndrome.

I can't imagine a CGI continuation being any different.

Hollywood needs to go back and make a movie set in the mansion like it was meant be originally.

This is exactly what a Resident Evil film is supposed to be like. Not those 3 catastrophes with Milla Javavich or w/e.

THIS IS WHAT RESIDENT EVIL SHOULD HAVE BEEN...
THIS is how Resident Evil shoul'dve been made from the start so to speak. Not to diss Jovovich but i'm glad they're actually using the characters from the games and making it more akin to what Resident Evil was originally.
