Yeah, as far as unforgettable scenes between Bickle and Corleone go I guess we'll have to settle for the coffee shop and airport scenes from Heat. I'm okay with that. |

Yep, that looks like a shit souffle. These iconic individuals reduced to.... well that. When I thought of Deniro and Pacino(or is that billy bob thorton?) i thought of the single greatest film ever. Travis Bickle and Michael Corleone sharing scenes creating an unforgetable memory that i wish i could now forget. |

Given that Heat is my favourite flick of all time I've TRIED to be excited about this movie, I've really tried. But aside from the early negative press surrounding it, the feeling I get from watching the trailers is that going to see this movie will be like going to a party where nobody knows each other, except for two guys, who have known each other for so long that they've developed their own little system of banter and inside jokes, that they smugly think the rest of the party guests can't get enough of.
DeNiro and Pacino should never be THOSE guys.
...Fuck it, I don't even know if what I just said made any sense. It's too damn early. |

Is it just me or is DeNiro seriously getting a fat Jerry Lewis pumpkin head.
Posters aside, it certainly is a sad day in recent in cinema when greats like Pacino and DeNiro churn out obvious B-grade schlock for sake of a pay check. Have they no decency ? Both are simply reduced to imitations of themselves. I think the last good Pacino was a minor part in ANGELS IN AMERICA, As for DeNiro, probably WAG THE DOG. For fuck sake Scorsese is even beginning to distant himself from DeNiro; they havent made a film in over ten years ! Pacino has nothing except pathetic street cred amongst the hip-hop industry; which if not sad is extremely hilarious. Hopefully, this film flounder sand disappears quickly; but given the publics ignorance & guiliablity it will probably be a box office smash. |
