It’s no secret that we here at JoBlo.com are big backers of Roger Ebert. Pretty much any goings-on in the life of Roger is deemed newsworthy on this site (but then again so are blurry pictures of action figures, so what do we know), so here is something to keep your Eber-tite (get it, appetite/Ebert?) satiated for the time being. He’s started a journal (you don’t use the word ‘blog’ when referring to a Pulitzer Prize-winning film critic) which you can check out HERE. So far there are jut a few entries, chronicling the passing and his love of Arthur C. Clarke and his film festival Ebertfest.

Extra Tidbit: God I miss watching Ebert & Roeper at the movies. But then again I miss everything about my old life.

Richard Roeper didn't horn in on Siskel's job; I think you are being kind of hard. Like you, I was a hard core "at the movies addict" - I remember the "Sneak Previews" show that predated it - wasn't that on public television? Anyway, it's really sad that Siskel passed, but would you have kept Ebert alone? Given all of the guest critics Ebert demoed, I really think Roeper fit the bill the best. I like that he isn't exclusively a movie critic - and that he was ready to go toe to toe with Ebert right out of the gate. He's also done a fine job keeping the show around - hopefully Ebert will be able to return at some point. Would you have simply taken the show off the air after Siskel passed? I'm glad Roeper stepped in.

I miss Siskel & Ebert. :(

And an extra :( because it's called for. Roeper could never, ever, ever in even his wildest dreams, come close to hold a candle to the very much still missed Gene Siskel.
