I personally don’t give a rat’s ass about “Buffy: The Vampire Slayer” or the “Angel” TV shows. And I really didn’t care for Whedon’s “Alien Resurrection” script either. But I still quite enjoyed this panel. Joss is a funny and witty dude and he kept me amused. Here’s some Joss, Buffy and Angel stuff that you all might dig:

  • No crossover plans for “Buffy” or “Angel” just yet. They are after all on different Networks now.
  • The Buffy animated series is a go! They’re starting to draw for it NOW!
  • Buffy won’t get darker due to its network move.
  • You can find Buffy episodes on DVD but only in England at this point (with boring commentaries or so Joss says). Since they might start syndicating the Buffy TV series in the States next year, they will likely not be selling them in the States anytime soon, because of the conflict of interest.
  • Buffy is contracted for 7 seasons but Joss said that they probably have stories for at least 11 at this point. Joss also said that he shoots each season as if it was the last. On a positive note, he said that he doesn’t think that FOX wants to get rid of the show right now and that he doesn’t think that any of the stars wanted to leave the show right now either.
  • Joss also has a few non-Buffy related feature films in mind but wasn’t at liberty to discuss them any further. I guess that we’ll just have to wait and see.
  • The Buffy people accept spec scripts but only if they’re sent through an agent. Joss Whedon does not read them personally though.
  • When asked about his re-writing experiences, Joss said: “Have you ever been in prison? (joke) It could be a fun experience but generally people don’t take you seriously. It’s a great training ground but not a great job.”
  • The character of Giles will get his own show in England.
  • The Buffy-Robot character will be back eventually. Joss loved it!
  • Seth Green is not returning to the show but his character lives on in the comics. Seth is too busy with his film career.
  • Any Buffy movies in the works? Joss said: “It’s an open book, we’re taking it one year at a time”.

Another year, another San Diego Comic Con for the Arrow and I. Okay, so this year's event wasn't as exciting or interesting to us as the one presented last year (see our entire coverage of that event here), but I guess we did still have quite a few things to check out, as presented below:

The Spider-Man/ Sam Raimi panel:
Sam discusses the "Spider-Man" movie that he is currently directing, answers some questions and gives us all a sneak 5-minute preview scene from the movie in question...

The Kevin Smith panel:
Kevin discusses everything in his View Askew universe, talks about his upcoming movie "Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back", his future and even shows us some behind-the-scenes outtakes and more...

The John Carpenter panel:
Legendary director John Carpenter comes to the Con to discuss his latest horror flick "Ghost of Mars", answers some questions and gets dissed in the process...

The Planet of the Apes Q&A with Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa:
Cary discusses Tim Burton's project and answers questions...

The Joss Whedon panel:
The man behind "Buffy: The Vampire Slayer" and "Angel" discusses everything and the kitchen sink in here...

Glen Morgan/James Wong present "The One":
The men behind last year's surprise hit "Final Destination" discuss their upcoming sci-fi/thriller starring Jet Li and more...

The Mick Garris panel:
Director Mick Garris discusses all of his films including his TV version of "The Shining", "The Stand" and his upcoming Stephen King movie "The Talisman"...

Interview with David Naughton:
You might not remember the name, but you will definitely remember his part as the guy who turned into the werewolf in John Landis' classic film "American Werewolf in London". The Arrow interviews him here...

Misc. stuff:
JoBlo reviews "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" and the "Movie Webmaster panel" while The Arrow reviews "Elvira's Haunted Hills" and the "Jason X" trailer...
