Fanboys have been licking their lips and saving their tissues for the first look of Scarlett Johansson as Russian superspy Natasha Romanoff (aka the Black Widow) in Jon Favreau's IRON MAN 2. Finally, Entertainment Weekly has our first look of the buxom beauty as the leather-clad villain in its upcoming issue, which is essentially a preview for what has to be one of the most anticipated Comic-Cons in recent memory. This is cool as shit. IRON MAN 2 hits theatres on May 7th, 2010.

I dont like her at all, but I have faith that Jon Favreau made a good decision. Seeing the extras of the last film, he put alot of thought into the process of the first one. I am SO looking forward to this one.

LOL. It's hilarious to me that everyone says "Scarjo can't act". Since when? You act like she's Jessica Alba or Jessica Biel or something.

I kinda remember way back in the day, when this director named Nolan cast some pretty boy named Heath ledger as The Joker. You know, the dude from "10 things I hate About You" and that Gay Cowboy movie? look how that turned out. Absolutely ho...

Black Widow? No. She doesn't fit the part. Squeezing her into tight leather is great but she doesn't look like she could kick ass. She looks like she's on the run from the sorority house or something. I have no idea why they didn't get a sultry European or actual Russian actress to play the part (Olga!). High hopes for the flick, but I think she's going to be the one that stands out as the easi...

Accents
beej, Mickey did mention he's been learning Russian to give him the base to put the accent over the english words - Much like Day Lewis has done in the past - so that should be an indication of how much effort he's putting into it - I assume Scarlett will be working just as hard.
She does look AWESOME though, don't she?

Scarlett looks great but I think sharing the screen with RDJ and Rourke will expose her acting limitations.

I understand the point that Widow came first
BUT if we have learned anything from Hollywood its you don't need to copy the exact character to make a good movie. Its just way to a like and sadly Rachel Nichols so far seems to be pulling it off better. And in no way do I personally think Rachel Nichols is close to being as hot as Johansson. She just looks like crap here and frankly somewhat low budget. That’s all I’m saying.

While not a huge fan of Scarlett Johanson, Favreau really transformed her into the character. That is awesome. In a world where comic book movie directors generally take as many liberties as they can (make up Joker, Venom crappiness in Spider-Man 3, Galactus), Favreau is the one guy who actually tried to bring the comic to life. This movie is gonna be awesome.

I agree...
With the folks that say Emily Blunt should have done this role. I know she couldn't because of her contract but it's just messed up man. SJ is so wrong for this part, her acting sucks as well.

She's gotta be in specific roles. Bad guy roles aren't good for her. She wasn't good in The Spirit, and while that movie already sucked, she definitely hurt it.
She needs to be the cute, good girl, otherwise I have trouble believing it. Halik's right, it should've been Emily Blunt.

How many "bad guy" roles have you seen her in? You named ONE. The one you mentioned SUCKED and it wasnt Scarjo's fault, It was a bad script with bad direction.

seeing random scenes of her in pieces of The Spirit led me to hate her possibly for the rest of her career. She is soooo corny and she's probably gonna try too hard to be badass and fail. Even in The island she just over acted every single scene.

Im not impressed
She looks JUST like Scarlet from GIJoe maybe someone in costuming should have looked at what movies were on the horizon. And what’s with the bad extensions curled everywhere? I never was to into this casting and I’ll need to see her in a trailer before I’m sold on her as the Widow. Blunt was the better option by far.
