Liev Schreiber and Jamie Bell have signed on to star in Ed Zwick's next film, DEFIANCE for Paramount Vantage. The film will based on Nechama Tec's book about a bunch of Jewish brothers (Daniel Craig, Schreiber and Bell) that are living in Nazi-occupied Poland, who escape into the Belarussian forest and join the Russian resistance fighters battling the Nazis. I wonder if the pool of ideas for movies about Nazis will ever be exhausted. Still, this sounds good - triumph of the human spirit kinda thing - and I really liked Jamie Bell in THE CHUMSCRUBBER. In case you're unaware, Zwick is the powerhouse director behind such movies as THE LAST SAMURAI and the more recent BLOOD DIAMOND. So yeah, the guy delivers.
Extra Tidbit:
Actually, on second thought I might have enjoyed THE CHUMSCRUBBER because of Camilla Bell.

"Deep and meaningful" artists for a generation that have never had to deal with real problems through their lifes.
